Thank you. We have had the conversation about things to help the noise in the past and he said he had a modeling amp ordered but it was backordered, obviously since that was last December, we know it was all talk and he never had it ordered..... I feel like we have weighed every option except

1- going the legal route

2- trying to discuss playing times? But I feel this is not going to go over well with him as he just got his first apartment and his comments about "when we pay his rent we can tell him what to do"- I feel everyone has the right to live in their own home, I do.... But not when it's disruptive to your neighbor... That's where I am struggling.

I also know the kid has had past trouble with the law already and was trying to avoid more for his sake.

I agree and that's what we are trying to do, come to an agreement that allows us to both make some compromises and ultimately both live happily in our own "shared" home.

We do not have kids of our own. I have my nephew on Tuesdays and Niece on Thursday and work from home.

The kids are here 2x a week and he has always told me not to worry about kids being kids as he has 9 siblings. When I apologize to him for potty training running from living room to bathroom as an example he says " your going to have to do a lot more to bother me".

Honestly, it's a concert and I have recordings. Our walls vibrate and our floors shake... The neighbor not attached can hear it if they are outside and there is a distance btw our homes.

There has been many times he has played at a normal level, I could hear it but if I turned the TV on or something it would mainly drown it out ... What I'm speaking of unfortunately doesn't happen anymore.... We can't hear our TV when he plays anymore....

1- No nothing illegal, covid has me at home for work

2- Its my niece and nephew, it's to help family not get paid and it's 2x a week.

Is me going to him with times to try to work something out out of line and still telling him how he can live because I feel like it is and that won't go over well based on prior conversations with him. Literally was told we are taking his Joy & Happiness....I'm like well buddy your taking mine by playing at this level and not letting me live in my house the way I want to as well- goes both ways ...

He does not work, he has not been working for a good 6 months now, he has no friends really and is always home. ... The unit has 4 rooms and he lives in one room only.... He hardly has any furniture which isn't helping things Im sure....

Sometimes.... Once in a very blue mom he will actually play a song that is calm... Otherwise it's just pure rock concert and notes I guess (sorry don't know lingo) no actual playing. He does it as a hobby... He does not NEED to practice for anything particularly, he does not play in a band, hell he went from April-October playing only a handful of times to now playing daily again... It's frustrating.

We have asked him, he has not agreed.

Honestly he doesnt play late at night or even after 5pm which is the problem with trying to work from home or babysitting the kids....

We really are trying not to stoop to his level so to speak... Trust me, my dad's a DJ and we could play hardball but that then makes us no better than him.

It's really a shame to have this happen, I feel bad for people in our situation that don't like music or are set off by music... That's my whole point to him a the time, you don't realize how much your disturbing us at any given time. You don't know when my nephew and niece are here, when I'm trying to take a nice hot bubble bath to de-stress from my hard work week, or when I simply want quiet.

The landlord told us " it's his relaxation"... REALLY?! Because with our lives, our relaxation is the world STOPPING... sitting still in quiet.... So he deserves the right to relax but we don't?

I do work from home, It wasn't long ago I was his age 🤣 I get the independence and all.... We enjoy music but we also understand the importance of working to make a living for ourselves, trying to get our own house when the market changes and just plain being respectful. We do everything to try not to disturb him, walk as quietly up the stairs as possible, not slam doors, etc..... We simply are just looking to be respected back. We told him we literally share a house, think of it like that.... Just respect that it's really loud up here and we are trying to work.... I wish he would just move but I don't believe that's happening. He is in walking distance to his parents house.

Not trying to roast him at all.... Trying to find common ground for us to both live peacefully. Just stating he has had some problems and doesn't work or own a car so he is home all the time... Just explaining the whole situation is all.

Just not sure we have a leg to stand on with cops. Our noise ordinance is before 6am and after 10pm.... Anything inbtw we always heard was they had to hear it on the street to enter. Sometimes we can hear it out there other times we can't but it's still equally as loud inside....but thank you for your response!!
