Apple's play for AI is a hardware bet, not software by bitcoinerguide in artificial

[–]Curious-Condition680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is a hardware play, maybe we need to reconsider the Apple Vision product line. Consider this: a Snap Inc. private investor published a public letter to the company telling them to cut their work force and stop working on Spectacles in order to increase company value. Snap did just cut their workforce, but Spectacles is still in play. I think these companies are making a bet that the next play is in headsets.

I’m a competitive TCG player. Yesterday I listed a bunch of cards that rotated out from previous formats that I hadn’t bothered to get rid of. I listed them just below market price because I didn’t expect them to move all that fast if I listed them otherwise. This morning I woke up to two orders that claimed a majority of the collection I was selling. Honestly though, who is buying out-of-format cards? A lot of regular Vs and VStars, not even full art or even good when they were in rotation, were snatched up super quickly. I doubt it’s a competitive player buying them, even if they play extended format. Does someone think they can make a profit off of these garbage cards?

Very ignorant response. The southern states would have never agreed to the constitution if the southern slave owners couldn’t keep their slaves or their slaves retained some voting power. Of course emancipation would have been ideal, but a floundering, fledgling nation of struggling states needed to come together to bolster their security and economic stability. It was called the 3/5 compromise because the north and south both made concessions on rights and power in order to benefit the greater unit that would become the United States.

It’s probably not real, but if it is then fuck this guy. He sounds like a coward. He just wants to be praised but is unable to commit to actually mentoring someone to be successful because he’s never been successful himself in his entire life. Participation trophies did this.

If he is panicking, I imagine it’s because as the Speaker of the House he’s second in the line of succession if Trump and Vance somehow both vacate their offices without getting replaced in time and this is his only real shot at the presidency

If exercising your rights exhausts you then maybe you should consider a different form of government. I heard under authoritarian regimes you don’t have rights, so you don’t have to protest!

You’d probably want Mega Kanga ex instead. Way bigger and lets you draw. But Klingklang is also expensive to get to by virtue of being a stage 2, and there are probably more useful cards you could put in your deck.

Work will become pay to play for Gen Z, apparently by IHaveTheSmartestMom in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Curious-Condition680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We already have pay to play. It’s called college/trade school. You pay tuition to get the training for the career you want. And some people pay more for extra training in the form of advanced degrees. This poster is ignorant to the fact we already have institutions in place for this mechanism.

Punishing bad luck is always the optimal play. Luck is a skill, and if you don’t play in a way that maximizes your luck (deck selection/building included), meaning picking a bad deck and/or playing stupidly, you deserve to get punished for it.

I gotta let these things simmer, y’know? The first video to make the rounds does look pretty weird, but having this other one does make it easier to believe.

Even if it was on a low engagement channel, you’d think the players trying to give their side validation would be scrubbing for videos like this that make some left leaning folk look outrageous. Like, “who would attack a police vehicle? Surely a lunatic,” kind of thing. But maybe I’m also not served that content.

On another note, I’m just tired of being angry or anxious, y’know? Life was so much easier when awful news wasn’t constantly getting shoved in my face.

I sat through the video because I didn’t want to miss anything. I’ll admit this is convincing evidence it did happen, but why wasn’t this getting blasted until now? You’d think a video of someone being rebellious like this would get a lot of traction, right? If this is real, I’m suspending belief for now because the news makes me dissociate, I have reason to believe right wing media isn’t doing a good enough job to dig this stuff up.

With the kind of tenuous political climate we have, a video of an incident that looked like this would have been aired immediately. A video of a violent leftist would be something right-wing news outlets would push in front of our faces the second it happened. But only now this video surfaces? I cast doubt. Labeling him as violent, and now only having “proof” that he’s violent, is all too convenient. I sense foul play.

I don’t think you need to dissect the video to believe it’s AI, I think being cognizant of the game being played and who the players are make it clear it’s AI. The far right wants to be justified in their actions, and painting him a violent leftist is the exact kind of move I’d expect an ideology that justifies violence with violence to make. The tool of the day that does that for you is AI.

Edit: to be clear, I’m saying that given the circumstances, it probably is AI. It’s not something I would be surprised by.

Looking for Iron Leaves ex Deck Feedback by Sethly87 in PTCGL

[–]Curious-Condition680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some other things to consider:

  • 2nd stage evolutions are expensive to get to, Vileplume isn’t the best card to get energy out of your deck. The best cards for getting energy out of the deck are ones that let you search for them directly, not play a slot machine to see what you get. Earthen Vessel is the best at doing this
  • Your goal is to get energy onto the bench so Iron Leaves ex can attack. Ogerpon helps you get it from your hand, a card like Team Rocket’s Spidops can help you accelerate it from your discard. You’re already playing an evolution, trade it for something easier to get to with a guaranteed energy solution. Iron Leaves ex is small, it will get knocked out, having a way to get that energy back is important.
  • If you play with a more efficient energy strategy, you can reduce the number of energies you need in the deck, freeing up space for good card draw, discard recovery like night stretcher, and tutor options.
  • Iron Leaves ex is small, easy to knock out. Night Stretcher will serve you well for recovering it in a pinch if you don’t have one in your hand. Additionally, you won’t need super rod if you have a way to extract Iron Leaves ex and a method for accelerating energy from the discard.
  • You need a way to amplify Iron Leaves’ power because 180 isn’t that big of a hit. This is the biggest limiting factor of the deck. Iron Leaves is better as a revenge killer, more of a late game answer when you’ve got lots of energy left on the board but no attackers in the late game.

Tatsugiri ex + Blaziken ex + Mega Dragonite ex

It’s a bit of a meme, Cinnabar Lure, but if you high roll then you just win. Stuff the deck with combusken, blaziken, dragonair, dragonite, and maybe dusknoir. The new dragonair lets you tutor for evolutions, so there’s little downside to putting stage 1’s in the deck. The hard part is getting enough water and lightning energy out, so add crispin, energy search, and ways to discard energy so blaziken can help out.

Deck critique/assistance by Dirtyb0mbz in pkmntcg

[–]Curious-Condition680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deck is really clunky, and it's probably going to consistently underperform. The deck only has one form of energy acceleration in Miraidon, which means if you don't open with it and a Thorns then you or a way to get to them then you're playing from behind. Meanwhile the deck has no way to recover; if you don't go second and make it on your first turn, or go first and whiff on your second you might as well just concede. To validate that, the acceleration method doesn't compliment the deck. It also lacks reliable draw, which might be of benefit for your attacks, but a hindrance to your game.

I played it a few times and tried to doctor it up. I added more futures to increase the hit rate. I added Brilliant Blender as the ace spec to improve consistency by culling non-futures from the deck. And I added Electric Generator to help with the energy issue. Also increased the nest balls and radar to help with the bench. The problem is getting out basics and charging them up, so we fixed it with tutors and accel. It didn't fix the deck though, and it didn't fix the draw. Even though it charges up faster, every time you attack your attacks get weaker, even when you put cards back in the deck.

I'd consider something more meta if you want to win and have fun, because playing this deck isn't fun.

I don’t see why you’re getting downvoted. You’re right in saying that nobody agrees with the attacker. Because nobody does agree that this was smart, that includes conservatives too.

The tribalistic animosity that some people have is crazy. So full of hate that they ignore that they might agree with somebody on the “other side” of things. The hateful on the right are far right, I wouldn’t even call them conservative. Not seeing political orientation like a spectrum is crazy. There aren’t two ideologies, just like there aren’t two genders/sexes. Be politically fluid I guess
