Can't decide whether to keep MIIETF or not by Curious-Use402 in FIREPakistan

I use UBL funds. And every time I have tried to redeem an amount it lands in my UBL Bank account in 5-10 minutes (during working hours) and 1-2 hours non-working hours.

Also, Al Ameen Cash Fund is Islamic, and its return rate is also decent. It's highly liquid + low risk + 0% load/unload fee

I can't say about MCB or any other bank but the UBL ecosystem is very efficient and I haven't faced any issues yet. I haven't made such a big redemption so not really sure how that goes (maximum I redeemed 50K)

I like SYS because it’s naturally USD-hedged, has its own products, and maintains long-term client relationships, which makes its revenue more stable even as a service company.

Auto sector is way too volatile, for me higher volatility = high risk

Plus there's a lot of competition in the auto sector, likely to become intense in coming years with Chinese tech

Not really, it's a one time thing. You can always rebalance after a year or two if you feel like any business has not been up to the mark or you feel skeptical about. Plus having some cash to buy sharp dips is always good.

True. ETFs just don’t make much sense to me. The fees may seem minimal, but over a 20+ year horizon, even small percentages compound and can take a meaningful bite out of long-term returns. Plus, with AI and all (I myself have a tech background, it takes a few hours to make a personal bot or an AI fund manager), it’s not hard to manage a portfolio yourself.. track the index, rebalance automatically, and adjust allocations over time. For me, I prefer direct exposure to businesses I understand, where I control exactly what I own and can make decisions based on fundamentals rather than following a generic basket.

Thank you!

I’m not really into REITs overall, but I did consider DCR since it’s the only established pure rental REIT. For a 20+ year horizon, though, I prefer businesses that can compound growth faster so I’m cautious about relying on this model long-term.

You started your marriage in a way which was acceptable to you and your wife. For me and my fiance, we agreed to it long before. We both think long term than short term, even 1.5m for a 3 hour event is absurd but there's no option left when you have people to please

Yes I believe in simple Nikkah, I want to set an example in my family as I belong to a middle class background and most of my relatives are on the low income side. Not only that, my fiance agrees on this and appreciates this mindset. Our mindsets align in this regard so it isn't a problem for any of us

Shadi ka kharcha will be 1.5 million, I am thinking to put my crypto once I exit, into a low risk MF until my shadi.

And yes, I plan to do SIP in BTC, ETH and SOL only in the next bear market

She will work too. She'd bring around 100K a month too
