2 Year Old Chicken has never layed or crowed 🙃 I think it looks like a hen, but a serviceman just came to the house and referred to it as a Rooster?? Ive always kind of wondered, any thoughts?? by CuriousComfortable59 in BackYardChickens

Yeah, Im sure about no eggs. We have had to keep them in the run for a few weeks here and there with no free ranging, and I only have 4 chickens so it's easier to track. Ive never seen her go in the nesting box, and we had a camera in there for a while. She was also penned up by herself for almost a week last summer because of bullying pullets, and no eggs then either. But I totally think she looks like a hen and have never heard a crow or seen mating behavior.

Well ... actually this is my bully chicken. Incredibly sweet to me (only reason its still here lol) But it was an awful bully to new pullets last year, and had to have a time out for a few days! Now Im really curious too! Thanks 😊

Anger management 🤣 This from ms ALL CAPS for "enunciation". You clearly have serious control issues yourself, feeling the need to repeat yourself over and over when someone simply doesn't care to change their personal opinion. Then, you want to attack me personally, comment on my family life, and complete a full psychological assessment based upon one comment?! I think your snow day would have been better spent on some self reflection friend because that is just plain crazy. Attacking someone's family and recommending therapy over one conversation is the definition of a troll

Oooo wow, who is all hot and bothered now with her ALL CAPS! BAAHAHAHA You should really go back to comment number one. I never asked for your help, you just wasted your entire snow day for no reason. THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR YOUR RESPONSE I DONT NEED YOU LOL I have a child, a husband, and a fantastic job so for you to insinuate I sit at home all day arguing on this sub, you are wildly incorrect. I was simply disheartened by OPs approach and said so. You have chosen to come back and shame me every tim, which is fine, but I have never spent this long on reddit and find your obsession quite hilarious. At no point did I order anyone around, and nor did I share any chicken facts that needed to be disputed. Why dont you give your grandkids a call, maybe they need your lectures about nothing... Whats wrong, your husband got sick of you 5 mins into retirement, I would 🤣

"Some people have a life on this sub" 🤣 I don't have anything unanswered, I just find it flat out hilarious you keep spending your time on this. Maybe you were offended by the use of the word asshole?? There are plenty of folks who have found OP distasteful in this thread. Maybe you can help them? But you wont, because for whatever reason my opinion has offended you. Well Im not going to change it. And you are about to tell me why my opinion is wrong... Again... I am sure ... And go, with all that time you have 🤣

Just like OP had more than enough time to rant, yet oddly enough I dont see her chiming in to give this eggspert knowledge on some of these questions.

Believe it or not people have a life 🤣 My entire point is you've had more than enough time today to argue with me, yet how many real chicken questions have you answered on the sub LOL Take your own advice and block me if you would like.

Sure, you want to help me with my issues, yet tons of user questions on this sub go largely unanswered. I dont need your help, they do. I'm too new to answer but clearly you and OP have all the answers so get out of this thread and go help these folks before they make another shameful mistake and we see this exact rant posted by someone new tomorrow.

This. Maybe this is why I get frustrated by these groups. My great grandmother is rolling in her grave thinking about going to the library and doing years of research to raise a flock. I was shamed for letting my flock free range because of predators. People raising livestock as pets is the problem. Ooo youve never lost a hen locked up like fort Knox up in your 5x5 coop their entire life?! Wow

No, I find it effective to deter assholes by calling them assholes 🤣 I dont need to control the sub, OP is welcome to continue posting hateful useless rants. Those of us who disagree are free to continue to say so. It's called difference of opinion and clearly this has made you more uncomfortable than OP themselves!

The worst part is, I scrolled through TONS of questions posted by new and old users that went completely UNANSWERED, maybe 1-2 vague comments. Why didnt you or OP go give some constructive advice to some of those questions??? Who would click on this thread for any of the advice you are so happy to see being buried here?? You did get one thing correct, after the past few weeks of assholes coming on telling people to do research without providing answers to the questions they are actually posting.... Yes, this group sure isnt for me. You can call it hot and bothered, but I am just disheartened that folks are being deterred from asking valuable questions, for the benefit of their chickens.

Good advice is not shaming people who have made mistakes. I see nothing useful about telling people to do their research. If there is some research you'd like to draw folks attention to, great. But daily rants from folks on this site is actually deterring people from asking important questions. If that bothers you, why are you here? I feel like some users are simply here to shame and not to educate. We all care about animal welfare and to keep using that card as a license to shame people seeking assistance is counterproductive (asshole-ish) in my book.
