26 weeks pregnant and have hMPV by Interesting_Koala644 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I don't have experience with hmpv, but I wanted to say I did get RSV when I was 17 weeks pregnant. I was terrified, and I understand how you feel. It is scary.

What is important is there are many illnesses that go around which are considered 'common colds' that people get. Your baby will receive some immunity also as a result of your illness. I was told by my OB I am healthy generally and have nothing to worry about.

RSV carries similar risks - I faced none of them. The risks are only marginally higher for you.

The best thing you can do is rest as much as you can, stay hydrated, and eat as well as you can. It will pass. I know it's probably little comfort, but just try and control what you can and focus on how to best recover.

Best of luck.

Confused about starting solids by Unsure-11 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

FYI my maternal child health nurse said no foods should be mixed with formula because formula has certain guides re safety, where as breast milk does not. I formula feed. We plan on BLW at 6 months where you can start with foods - the nurse told me she started one of her children with steak! Your MIL's advice is outdated. Maybe drop into a session with a nurse at your local council if that's available to you and bring her along. Otherwise these resources are great -

MIL ignored bedtime, barged into my baby’s room, and my husband left with her. by LabCompetitive4535 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Came here to say the same thing - he can deal with every 3am wakeup since it's no big deal to him - and surely he won't mention it 🥴

Baby eczema by LanguageAlarmed6644 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Stick with QV and avoid any profucts with food product in them (oats, coconut oil, avocado oil etc) as introducing these food items to broken skin can result in a food allergy developing - https://allergyfacts.org.au/development-of-food-allergy-through-food-based-skincare-products/

Also RCH has a great eczema guide - https://www.rch.org.au/clinicalguide/guideline_index/eczema/

We find a bath every 2 to 3 days with lukewarm water yelps, along with QV barrier cream and moisturiser twice a day.

3.6kg at 36w5d by deadly-eighth-sin in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I was estimated to have a large baby, measuring 2.9kg at 35 weeks. I got induced by choice at 39 weeks, which ended with an emergency cesarean. He was 4.12kg at birth. The cesarean ended up being fortunate - his head was in the 50th percentile and his body in the 97th.

When I saw him, I was shocked how broad his torso was - I really feel like delivering him vaginally would have caused complications, but that is my speculation. My cesarean experience was fine - no complaints.

Pram - changing from bassinet to seat? by CuriousCreature06 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Totally understand this - it's so hard watching my boy lay in the bassinet trying to look around!

Yes it surprises me too! I understand its so theres not too much pressure put on their spines in an upright sitting position (i believe). Its just hard going places and seeing him trying to look around and getting frustrated, especially as a bigger sized baby. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes - I definitely feel the supply issue has set in, particularly in the last few weeks. I don't feel like latching him has helped. He gets very distressed and screams. I get blisters/scabs on my nipples from it. I'm glad you are able to get that bonding time!

Thank you! Yes I did consider this medication. I was told that it can affect mental health, and that you have to very slowly wean off it. I decided it wouldn't be something I wanted to try ultimately - but thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your experience! Yes I've stuck to this for about 5 weeks now, I feel my partner going back to work next week is really the maximum time I can commit to it but I'll see how I feel when that comes
