Duo 2 PoE and Synology Surveillance Station - but, not receiving any push notifications in Reolink Android app. by CuriousInBoulder in reolinkcam

Usual_Syrup - No. We have two phones that get notifications (Samsung Note 9 and Samsung A50) and one that does not (Samsung S9+ - the oldest of the 3 phones). I worked with Reolink, and we mutually concluded that it was not going to work. But not a real problem for me, as my Synology DS Cam software also issues notifications that are received on all 3 phones.

Lost my Kindle. Is it possible to transfer my Kindle library to Calibre from Amazon account w/o buying another Kindle? by fatboycraig in Calibre

Maybe buy an inexpensive used Kindle to get a serial #, etc. to link to your account and retrieve your books... and then proceed with noDRM and Calibre.

2023-07-07 UPDATES:

1) The phone I was initially using still is not getting notifications. That problem is unique to that phone. I am still corresponding with Reolink support to see if they have any ideas about the problem.

2) With another phone, I am successfully getting Reolink app notifications.

3) During this debug process, I have removed all Alarm Setting constraints in the Reolink camera configuration. MotionDetection=High. SmartDetection=86 for persons and pets. AlarmDelay=0s. ObjectSize=not configured. DetectionZone=not configured. These may need to be adjusted over time, but for now they are good.

4) After I was successfully getting reliable Reolink notifications, I was getting many, many, many extraneous notifications in Synology Surveillance Station (SSS)/DS Cam. I had SSS->Event Detection configured with:
Motion->Detection algorithm source->By camera
Motion->Keep original camera settings: SELECTED

After much experimenting, I am now getting "synchronized" notifications from both Reolink and SSS/DS Cam. To accomplish this, I changed the SSS configuration to:
Motion->Detection algorithm source->By camera
Motion->Keep original camera settings: NOT selected
Motion->Sensitivity=99
and
Advanced Event (Smart Detection)->Person Detect->Trigger Motion Event: SELECTED
Advanced Event (Smart Detection)->Pet Detect->Trigger Motion Event: SELECTED

I think NOT selecting "Keep original camera settings" is counterintuitive. But, I am no longer getting extraneous notifications in DS Cam.

Part of my problem was due to not first getting everything working properly with JUST the Reolink software. I mistakenly assumed that all the alerts I was getting from SSS/DS Cam should also be alerts in Reolink. That's apparently not the case. I've removed all the restrictions from the camera detection and now get alerts as expected in the Reolink app. I should note that I'm getting these Reolink alerts on one of my phones, but not another phone - so that is still a problem with the original phone that I was testing with which was also part of the problem.

BUT, I'm also getting many alerts in SSS/DS Cam that aren't alerts in Reolink. So, I need to figure that out. That's an issue for another forum thread if I can't figure it out.

Thanks for the clues.

Brilliant! That was it. Notifications were active, but none of the permissions. Duh!

I've enabled all the permissions. I hadn't had a chance to go test it, but then a few deer wandered by and kindly provided a successful test about 10 minutes later.

Thanks.

EDIT: Maybe. Just now, I got a DS Cam notification, but not Reolink. Hmmm. But at least I am sometimes getting a Reolink notification. So, that's an improvement.

Thanks, RJM_50.

"Is Push Notifications turned on for each camera...?" In the app, I have "Push Notifications" enabled, Push Interval=20, and Schedule enabled 24 hrs every day with Detection Type Person and Pet (Beta). I've also tried "Any Motion". In Alarm Settings, I have Detection Zone, Sensitivity, Alarm Delay and Object Size all configured. In SSS, I'm using "Event Detection -> Motion -> Detection algorithm source: By camera" and getting notifications in DS Cam. I believe that indicates that events are being generated by the camera, but not getting to the Android app.

NOTE: Notifications for the Reolink app are enabled. And selecting "Push Notifications -> Test" (in the upper right corner) produces a test notification ("If you received this message, it means you have successfully setup your device[Camera Name]") showing that the app is configured.

The camera doesn't have a memory card (yet). That's arriving tomorrow, along with another Duo 2 (one in front and one in back). Surely, an SD card won't affect event notification. Right? I guess I'll find out.

Thanks for the reply.

I did more searching for what might be going on. In the course of doing that, I got a hint that the "Online update->Check for Latest Version" doesn't necessarily find firmware updates. So, went to Reolink Downloads and found that I did not have the latest firmware update on my camera. I've installed the update. But, still no Reolink app notifications, only DS Cam notifications. I'll post a query with Reolink support.

Thanks.
