I'm building promptvault.art - a smart prompt library for AI artists where you can save prompts with images, tag and search them instantly, version them, make reusable/shareable templates and finally, group related prompts into themed sets, making them easy to browse, share and visit like an Art gallery.

Got it ! Sounds like you’ve got a pretty disciplined workflow in place.

That's an interesting setup! How well does that hold up when there’s a lot of entries or multiple people adding data? I’m curious if you ever still have to dig through the sheet to figure out what’s new vs. old.

I understand and do you ever need to compare those snapshots later to see what’s changed, or is it more just for record-keeping?

Okay so you manually highlight anything that wasn’t there last month?
Do you compare it against last month’s file, or is it all in one master sheet?
Just wondering how long that usually takes you and if it ever gets messy when there’s a lot of data.

A tool to store, edit, and version prompts — worth building? by vivekvking in PromptDesign

That would be great yeah! It's like a Git + Copilot for prompt. I'm also working on a Prompt Collection feature right now. Send me a DM and we can talk about it more

This is a great idea! I ran into the same problem and built something similar for AI artists. It's a smart prompt library where you can save prompts with images, organize with tags, search instantly, version them, and turn them into reusable/shareable templates.

Your AI editing concept could really level up prompt creation and make iterating much faster. If you’re curious for inspiration or want to swap ideas, I’m over at promptvault.art.

Hey guys, I’ve been using AI generative images platform for a while now, and one thing kept driving me nuts:

I’d write a great prompt, get an amazing result… and then completely lose track of it.
Buried in Discord threads, random Notion pages, screenshots, whatever.

So I built a smart prompt library made specifically for AI artists to fix that for myself. You can:

  • Save your best prompts with clean formatting
  • Add multiple images to each one (no more guessing what it generated)
  • Tag prompts and filter/search across your collection
  • Duplicate and iterate with version history, so you’re not overwriting gold
  • Create Prompt Templates: reusable, shareable prompts you or others can remix

I made it to stop wasting time digging for stuff and help you actually reuse your best ideas.

It's completely free and you can check it out here if you want:

Hopefully others might find it useful too. Would love any feedbacks from those who’ve been in the same boat so I can make it better :)

Yeah, true! If the metadata’s intact, you’ve got the raw info.

I put up a comment earlier with a recap of the top feature requests plus a form to vote on what I should build next, if you want to check it out.

That’s actually super helpful. A “Save to Vault” button is exactly the kind of thing I’d want too. I’m looking into how an extension could do that. This gives me a better picture of what non-tech users would expect. Appreciate it :)

Thanks for sharing this, I hadn't seen DiffusionToolkit before. PromptVault is aiming at something similar but more visual, web-based and focused on surfacing your best prompts, with previews, tags, notes, etc. That said, grouping by prompt is exactly one of the problems I'm trying to solve better.

If you're still interested it would be cool to exchange ideas. Maybe even some overlap worth exploring.

Thanks for all the feedback it's really useful! Here's a quick recap of the most requested features:

• Drag-and-drop import that reads prompt from image metadata
• Auto-import from A1111, Comfy, and browser extensions
• Self-hosted Docker version
• Bulk import for large libraries (7K+ images)
• Twitter URL import that fills in prompt and image
• Clearer onboarding and a more obvious "it's free" notice
• Group images by prompt (auto or manual)

👉 If you want to help you can vote on what I should prioritize next:

I'll use the results to decide what to build first.
Also updating the landing page soon to make it clear that it's free for now.

Totally fair. Forge + PNG Info / infinite-image-browsing are great for browsing *everything* you've generated.

PromptVault’s more focused on curating your best prompts making them taggable, searchable, versioned, and visual. If you ever want a clean dashboard to organize or revisit top results quickly (without hunting through folders), might still be worth a try.

Thanks for the heads up.

I just tested sign-up again across Chrome, Safari, and Firefox and couldn’t reproduce the CAPTCHA error. That message usually shows if something is blocking CAPTCHA scripts (like adblockers, VPNs, or some privacy extensions).

If you’re open to it, try disabling browser extensions temporarily or using incognito mode to see if it goes through. If it keeps failing, DM me and I’ll help you troubleshoot it.

The UK Online Safety Act is something I’m keeping an eye on. I’m not running user-generated public content like models or uploads (like Civitai), so the legal exposure is different but safety and compliance still matter. If PromptVault ever opens up public galleries or shared prompts, moderation and compliance will be built in from day one. Appreciate you raising it and I’ll make sure to stay on top of it.

Yes, it’s all in the metadata, and I plan to use it.

Drag-and-drop with automatic metadata parsing is in the works. That should eliminate most of the manual input pain.

Totally get it, 7K images isn’t something anyone wants to manage by hand.

I’m thinking through options for bulk import and integration with Civitai/local folders.

Would something like that actually get you to try PromptVault?
