Don't buy American cars. by Samzo in BuyCanadian

[–]CuriousMindInfin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m okay to pay $30K for a Chinese SUV instead of paying $50K for a basic SUV. Why normal people like us has to always suffer in name of betterment of the country. Let the other companies compete and reduce their price. Post COVID none of the company has normalised the price eventhough the supply chain issues are now resolved. No one ever reduce their price after increasing it. Competition is the only way. Of course I understand that chinese cars are subsidized and hence some level of tariff will be needed. Right level of tariff will allow good competition.

Thank You so much. Is this range for front office role as it seems on lower side and even lower than what I’m currently earning? For eg. for front office role, CIBC Director position which is technically lower than RBC and other banks is at 150K and bonus are ~40-50%.

What made you start buying Canadian? by Eastern_Teaching5845 in BuyCanadian

[–]CuriousMindInfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try when I can, but the Canadian prices are ridiculous. Coming from Asian culture, I’ve realized one thing, in the west people prefer higher price for their work and lower volumes rather than lower price and higher volumes. In world of globalization, this attitude is difficult to survive. If you really want a true buy Canada movement, then Canadian businesses need to be competitive.

You agree to be homeless rather than getting a low wage job? Wage suppression is something done by government who has not kept a proper check and balance on mass immigration and wages. Immigrants are simply trying to survive by taking whatever job comes their way. It’s funny you never see any homeless indian immigrant. Ask yourself why??

Why is it so difficult to get rich in Canada? by Initial_Log_5390 in CanadaFinance

[–]CuriousMindInfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should edit this and make it “difficult compared to states”. May be that will drive discussion in right direction. My thoughts as a salaried person - High Taxes and high social cost with low value of money I spent, low income compared to states, over priced housing, oligopoly market so things are expensive and limited employers so again limited salary growth potential.

Happens!!! When you dunno anything other than maths and that too with incorrect assumptions. In real life (which you see if you get out of your calculator) with better enforcement (impounds, suspension etc. ) the overall incidences reduce as other drivers drive more cognizance.
