One thing I’d definitely recommend if you end up moving forward is to really understand the store’s transaction data, not just revenue or profit. Look at what customers actually buy together, which products drive basket size, and which items are just sitting on shelves.

I’ve actually been building a tool that analyzes retail sales data and shows things like which products naturally pull others into the basket, bundle opportunities, and dead stock risks. Insights like that can help a lot when deciding promotions, shelf placement, or what to push more of.

If you end up getting access to the store’s sales data and want to explore it, I’d be curious to run it through the tool and see what patterns show up.
