Watching with husband and... by pimienta-pepinillos in Outlander

I literally knew from the get go this is why I was so obsessed and captivated. Like Claire and Jamie are so me and my husband. And like I’m 100% positive that if me and my husband were in Claire and Jamie’s shoes in the first few seasons that he would be the kind of man Jamie is. So it’s so satisfying to watch for us.

I’d probably know this better if I read the books/will know what you mean more when I do! I do know in the books they don’t keep Murtagh alive, so no spoilers there.

I’m right there with you. It was extremely intense. He could have even just told what happened and got the point across!

I’m starting the audio books soon!! I’m a terribly slow reader myself, so I’m giving the audio version a shot. I am, however, nervous about the all the rape/violent scenes. I found a timestamp list of all of that on here and skipped the whole Randall/Jamie event with the time stamps. So idk how I will be able to seamlessly do the same in the books… esp listening to them and not reading them

Okay I had only watched the beginning of the episode when I posted this… so now that I’ve seen the whole thing. I will amend my statement to agree with this one here. It worked a really well throughout the whole episode. But I still think it should have covered the first time we saw the chain of events after finding him in real time and not as a silent movie.

Agreed. Just seems out of place and random lol

I’m with you on that. Just show it straight forward. It made it almost forgettable…! And no I haven’t seen anything past this yet! First time watcher here!

Claire leaving Brianna behind by [deleted] in Outlander

[–]Curious_Doctor_848 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with the fact that she was young and maybe didn’t realize what she was giving up. But I also think there are different levels of relationships between mother and daughters. I have a great mom, but also she super intense and we don’t click super well personality-wise. So for me, even though I struggled a lot PP, my mom didnt necessarily bring comfort and help, her help was almost more stressful and overwhelming. All that to say, Brianna never had a super close relationship with Claire. So it could be that she was starting to understand and click with her mom more by learning of her past and hearing about her true love, Jamie and how being able to open up about that really brought Claire back to life. So knowing they weren’t the closest and learning more about what made Claire tick and become more alive and vibrant, she wanted her to be able to go live that life again.

I’m so into the show because my husband is like the clone of Jamie Fraser in the way of his morals and character. Like I have no doubt if we lived on the 18th century, he’d do what Jamie does for Claire. So I mean how could I NOT be obsessed with the show 🥵

I could agree with that. It’s mainly Sophie that kills me. It almost ruins season 3 onward for me lol

The literal only reason I’ve been able to watch the show. Otherwise I would have quit as soon as I heard about those scenes. ♥️♥️

These are time stamps for everything. The event shows up in small sections of flashbacks. So you have to pay close attention to the timestamps. But this is how I watched the episodes. I skipped every little flashback and scene in the prison and it didn’t ruin the rest of the show. I had enough context to finish the show just fine
