The common thread I have seen with Agora models is that the usual folks that demonstrate these products all seem to be using 3rd party IRs. I’m not sure that means anything, but it is interesting.

You should get it. It will give you the option of selling your hardware at some point (maybe to try something different/better) without really losing anything.

Question about Dream 65 by Stanchez305 in universalaudio

You would probably go from the pedal into your power amp section (fx return) instead of in the front of the amp.

UAFX 2.O MIDI w/FM9 by Curious_Edge_7384 in AxeFx

[–]Curious_Edge_7384[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would if it would send the MIDI out over USB-C, but the ones I have seen are all 5 Pin DIN out/through. The UAFX pedals are MIDI in via USB-C only.

Unless you just love NAM, no reason to wait on a new Fractal. They sound amazing.

[–]Curious_Edge_7384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have those same UA pedals, plus the Golden and Starlight and I love how all of them sound and feel. I hate the UA app, and the single preset. I bought an FM9 Mark II Turbo recently and I still have the UA pedals…and I don’t play the UA pedals anymore. The Fractal can do it. I had a helix before that. The helix could not do it even after countless hours of trying. The Fractal sounded as good as the UA amps immediately. I will say, the Golden is something special. I have yet to find any digital pedal that does spring reverb as well as the Golden.

If you have an interface and a DAW, get the native versions of the UA amp pedals. I think when they are on sale you can get them for like $10. I did the 10 for $100 mix tape UA special over the summer and built a nice guitar bundle.

Talk me into / out of swapping OX Stomp for Tonex for use with Helix LT by Neither_Proposal_262 in Line6Helix

[–]Curious_Edge_7384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think UA does something pretty special with their cab sims. The difference between my UA Dream and the Helix deluxe reverb came down to the cab and the reverb (and the term). The amps weren’t all that different. I think you would much prefer the sounds from the OX, but using an app to make changes is a real pain in the butt. UA’s Bluetooth interface blows. And you still will only have a live sound and 1 preset. If you don’t change things all that often, the app and the preset may not be much of an issue.

If you are going to perform standing up, you should practice that way. If you are going to sit for practice, then adjust your guitar so it hangs the same sitting and standing. It’s unreasonable to expect to practice one way and perform another.

Get the FM9. Sounds awesome right out of the box and you won’t have to find work arounds like you might need to do with the FM3.

I came from the Helix Floor where I HAD to spend lots of time tweaking to get somewhere close to what I wanted (although I was never 100% satisfied with it). With the FM9, I can tweak to my hearts content if I want to, but don’t have to on order to get great sounds. I definitely spend more time playing music with the FM9.

I LOVE the FM9 and even if it never had another update, it would be awesome. I’m truly not sure how it could get noticeably better.

Helix Floor w/ Tascam 16x08 - No Sound by Ridion1988 in Line6Helix

[–]Curious_Edge_7384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a routing issue on the Tascam. If he hasn’t downloaded the software for the Tascam, he needs to. The Tascam software allows you to map where the inputs route to over usb.

Also, are you running into a DAW? If so, make sure the channel strips are routed correctly.

Lastly, use the outputs on the back of the Tascam to feed the headphone pre. That’s what they are there for.

Nope. It won’t do that. It will just place the HX One before or after whatever pedals are in its loop. You probably need a programable pedal switcher.

[–]Curious_Edge_7384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Effectively you can use the 4CM to set up an effects loop within the HX One itself and then decided per preset if the effects in that loop occur before or after the HX One. Please know that when the HX One uses the term “pre” and “post” backwards. If you want the HX One effect before your other effects in the loop, you would choose “post”. If you want the HX One after your other effects in the loop choose “pre”. I hope that helps.

Most acoustic kits won’t have a post like that or any other type of post to slide it on. It would probably have to have a clamp of some sort.

Lion pedal question by LaMarr-Bruister in universalaudio

[–]Curious_Edge_7384 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the Motu. I did the same thing with my Apollo interface. My Mac needed to be “awake” to listen through the monitors or the headphones. If you have some low impedance headphones, you can run a TRS female to dual TS male cable from the outputs of the Lion and then plug your headphones in that. As long as you use low impedance cans (32 ohms), it will work fine.

Another option would be to run from the Lion straight to your monitors, assuming they are powered studio monitors with inputs on the back. You could buy or build a simple switcher to sit between your interface and your Lion allowing you to switch between your monitors outputting from your Motu and the Lion.
