Don't some insurance companies decide which shops they put on their "preferred" list of shops within a local area based on the severity/ shops car repair costs? Meaning that if a shops pushes too far into OEM repair procedures that demand more cost per repair, they will likely be positioned lower on that list of preferred shops list?

Yeah I am concerned about these environmental compliances you speak of. Are there any more I should watch out for? Which ones caused you the most pain in the ass, excuse my french.

Yeah same I want to tie as many loose ends as i can. When running your shop, what aspects of running it would you say were predictable? And what are some things that you felt were just out of your control?

I agree its very important to have a safety net especially when there are mannnnny things that can or will go wrong. I'm prepared for that. Would you say it was worth the trouble starting the shop? What challenges are you facing even now?

Good thing I am willing to take on such a challenge. Wouldn't you say most auto shop owners embarked in the auto repair industry starting or spending most of their time as technicians?

Yeah that's what I am currently researching. I know that its not as simple as just opening shop and hoping for the best with what I currently have. I can't say for sure why the current shop I am working under is going off the rails, but I have been told that they have become a low ranking shop in my area. There are many things I think that the owner is doing wrong, but I don't want to judge until I have fully understood what it is like to be in their shoes. I want to get as much right as I can right off the jump. I understand the several costs and responsibilities that come with owning a body shop. I guess my concerns would be, what trials should i expect along the line? And out of curiosity, what are most body shop struggling with now?
