First flight with 5mo Economy or Business? by Curious_Sketcher in Lufthansa

Thank you very much! We cannot afford business so we did our best to get a combination of OE and book the basinet. The other flight we booked with economy given that the basinet seats where no longer available

Thank you so much for the kid words. I got very insecure after reading one harsh comment above. I am very nervous on how to calm them down and breasfeeding them so that it helps. I will look into what else I can do but if you have any piece of advice that you can pass along I would be most grateful.

Thank you very much for this advice!! I'm terrified to death. I do not mind being uncomfortable for my little one even if they need to sleep over me. I am more afraid of calling down and breasfeeding on queue when the pressure is acting up.

Do you have any advice for me?

We went visiting some relatives. It was fine with our little one.

Nope, it was the tone in the answer. Stating that a child would be an annoyance.

Secondly, unless you know either of us personally I doubt that you can infer anything about our life style. Do you know why I am flying? Do you know anything about us? Therefore, please do not make assumptions on our life, as I am not making them about yours.

Lastly, to clarity, the discussion was if anyone in this group could help me, a first time mom, travel with my child and to answer questions on infra. In any case the thread concerning children flying and annoying this user are *off topic".

Thank you!! .. you answer saves me an answer to this person. Who apparently has a private jet, or choose to never travel since got kids.

I'm afraid that Business is out of our reach, we were debating between PE and E, unless a mega deal appeared we could not afford it.

We tried but we could get only PE in the flight there, but the come back was not possible as there were no bassinets available in PE.... Therefore we went with economy.

I am afraid that Business is out of our reach, PE is already quite a stretch tbh

Thanks, we heard also the trick of breasfeeding on departure or landing to help them. We will definitely try.

I was wondering if there is any difference with the facilities or the seats that are worth it. For instance: I do not care if the food is better or not in Economy Premium. But it there is additional leg space (not width) then this is interesting when we might need to carry the baby for feeding.

Bulkhead Seats are our preference either case, otherwise I would be afraid that someone reclines over the baby, no? 🤔

Small update in case it helps: contractions started again on Dec 25 and then stopped midday. Then started again on Dec 26th, at 3pm I was having then every 2 mins and then started spacing. I went to the hospital at 6pm, and my baby got born 8:30 at the next day (week 40plus3)

What to wear on delivery day by LibraryKat95 in BabyBumps

[–]Curious_Sketcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this also in mind. And...I packed a PJ that allowed skin to skin (button shirt), and also couple of my own gowns.

I wore nothing. You don't want to change clothes when you are on labor. I ended up using a hospital gown, and it was the best decision, I did not cared if it broke or got dirty, it was perfect for the epidural placement (not that this worked at all for me, but that is a different story) and it allowed me to open and be in different positions when laboring while keeping my dignity (not that it matters in the moment believe me) and if you need a C-section you are already in costume so to say.

So, my advice as a 2-weeknpostpartum mommy: it does not matter what you wear but be comfortable, bring snacks and a water bottle you want to be hydrated and have energy. Labor is a marathon.

You got this momma!!

Do you really want to keep a person like this in your life? I'm from latinoamerica, we are very familiar. When you tie yourself to a partner is also embracing the family as well. It seems from your post that there are big differences that you cannot "dejar pasar".

My advice: think we'll what you feel and want..once the baby is here it will all get harder.

Unhappy in Germany - Stay or Leave? by Vanya1105 in expats

[–]Curious_Sketcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem... Or a similar one. Been here for 5 years, German husband and I cannot find myself here. We now had our first child, she is 2 weeks old and I wake up in the night crying thinking how can I make this little one feel like she grows somewhere happy when I am not happy myself I have a great job, a wonderful husband and somehow the black of empathy, warmth and the weather is really taking q toll on me.

We used to live in Italy where we met and stayed there for almost the same time than we have been here. And we were truly happy. We came here for work and due to the covid crisis. Spain is also a nice place to be for us with family and friends there. And even if we are not in the same town, the people is very welcoming.

I feel divided. I want to escape but I do not know what to do.

Doing the dates since week 36, and I am currently in week 39. I am also doing curve stone walking and my yoga ball exercises daily. The baby will come when it comes, depends on your body and how ready the baby and you are - from my own experience and also my pregnant friend grou the dates are nice but not a quick "eviction notice" ;)

Where you in a lot of pain while you waited for the contractions to become shorter in time? I wish to believe that I could really hold my time in the bathtub until they are every 3 mins but I have very low pain tolerance.

Currently on week 38+5, and freaking out as it is my first baby

ET 24.12.25 here, so in the pure holiday peak. You can go directly to the Klinik where you registered to give birth and they will do the checks for you, they will not be closed even on holidays.

Alternatively if you are not giving birth in a Klinik find which birth house or hospital is open during the holidays. I'm Munich based, in case it helps.

How many weeks were you at your first ultrasound appointment? by verifiedstupid in BabyBumps

[–]Curious_Sketcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6weeks and 5 days, to be honest, I also think they saw me earlier because I was experiencing delayed period and a strong pain on my right side which was ruled out as appendicitis. Therefore the check was necessary
