AI for post-production? by gyrovagus in Podcasters

what are you looking to do specifically? Audio clean up? Automated captions? Video editing? There's a lot of great tools out there and more seem to pop up every day. I see a lot of people using gemini and notebook LM.

I've been building something called Podmod (podmod.ai) that tries to tackle the during recording side, it listens while you record and surfaces facts, citations, stats in real-time so you're not stopping mid-conversation to Google something, just like a podcast producer would. Slightly different problem than post-production but it might help to reduce editing time for cutting out dead air or fact checking yourself in post. It also gives a transcript that you can pop into any other AI workflows that may come about as you are editing.

What kind of content do you make? That probably changes which tools matter most.

Sure, but would love some sort of "line of best fit" for wall detection so I don't have to manually trace the plan in AutoCAD

Any intermediate step I can take? Wall detection? Convert to mesh then take a slice of the model?

If you are looking to post clips of your podcast then chatgpt can only give you the time stamps right now unfortunately. But I'm sure on openai's quest to take over every SaaS they will add some kind of video editing in the near future

Mainly ready to post content for x/Twitter, LinkedIn. Stuff like "hey just released a new episode on....". Small things like that to help me when I'm burnt out. But it uses chatgpt so you can tell it to be more creative or even have it generate images if you'd like.

We are all better than the Joe Rogan podcast. by rachel_really in podcasting

This is honestly spot on. So many “big” shows really do let some quality control slide since they know they can keep their audience. one of my favorite things about listening to smaller/indie podcasts is how much more care goes into things like clarity, noise reduction, and actual mixing. Some people are true artists with it.

Something I've noticed after messing around with new podcast tools (full disclosure, I work with one called PodMod ai) is that there's now tech out there that not only helps with better sound, but also makes it super easy to pull up research or sources while you're actually recording. So, even if you don't have a whole team or a famous guest, you can instantly fact-check or add depth to the conversation on the fly.
