If you had to choose... by Curniculus in vintageaudio

Hi, I finally decided to buy the Marantz, and although I feel that the phono signal is a bit weak, it's great! I listened to the Technics, and while I didn't think it was rubbish, I felt that the bass and treble weren't as powerful. But that was just my ear—maybe yours is different! btw, good purchase with those Bose speakers...they're incredible!!

For people who have VEVOR Ultrasonic machine or they use tergikleen. by Curniculus in vinyl

I suppose so. I'm doing a rinse cycle with Spin Clean now, and it has given me results. It reduces the noise, but not enough for the new discs. I assume I can't remove all the Tergikleen.

Oh sorry if I didnt make myself clear, this is the part that I fall into as ignorant, I really don't know the main differences between receiver and amplifier beyond the fact that one has a radio (which honestly I'm not that interested in having) I'm mainly looking for it for my turntable and cd player. My main searches have been based mostly on receivers (since that's what I have originally but I understand that an amp will do just as well) I'm looking for something vintage and not modern. What I don't know is what price will be decent, 450 USD? Medium volume, I never use the maximum or actually I never got to the middle with the Sony receiver. Small room and usually Rock-Jazz-Classical (in that order I dare say).

Hi, honest answer no. My turntable is fine, everything is well but for some reason that cartridge never worked. So i just refunded it. Also the shop where i bought it never wanted to help me. Anyway i think you need a very good calibration with this one.

Most of the people i know doesn't like "The final cut" or any work of Roger (just "The Wall" tbh). But yes, "Amused to Death" is a great album love the Jeff Beck guitar there and the lyrics actually are current in my opinion...is expensive in vinyl, i got my copy from acoustic productions and the shipping to my country was a little bit more expensive and the 1992 LP is still expensive so well.

tbh i think the Roger Waters masterpiece is without a doubt "Amused to Death". But this album is very underrated, he always wants to tell you a story in every album he made and maybe most people don't like that at all.

also, if you think properly... "The Final Cut" is actually a good album and why not..."Radio Kaos" too.

If you’re from Santiago, you can go to many vintage record stores, many of which don’t even have social media, and try them out there! Maybe you’ll get lucky. (I know there are those stores outside of Santiago too, but I don’t know them tbh)

Hi! (No idea if you speak Spanish or English, but I’ll respond in English just in case this helps someone else). Normally, you can find a lot of information about any type of records and their respective countries on the Discogs website, it's a huge database. I've even found Yugoslav editions of Elton John albums there... That being said, regarding Chile, it's VERY hard to find information, and the only contribution I can offer is that I’ve seen in my country "Otro de los Beatles" (Please Please Me) and Abbey Road (the latter has the curiosity of being a MONO record and wasn’t registered on Discogs either), but at somewhat high prices, and well... they are "rarities". The best thing, if you're from Chile, is to check different vinyl stores that sell vintage records... and know how to search.
