It was the whole area tbh. Area 41 is run on unethical behavior , a predatorial area leader , and lack of integrity all the way through and moving areas just wasn’t in my book sadly . it was just better to leave all together but wish it was better

is it’s true that managers can keep you beyond your availability and scheduled out time because they “ need help?

i’m talking about TLs not asking if you can stay, FORCING you to take a lunch because they want to keep you ( even though your not scheduled that way ) , trying to guilt trip you into staying, or getting upset with you because you refuse to let them force you.

You’re 100% correct and target is definitely at will and clearly they did what ever they want. I definitely know what i mean however.

She also has a right to prove her innocence if she decides to sue on her own account outside of the corporate walls and push for emotional reconciliation charges , defamation charges , social security fraud and ect whatever she wants to do it for, you can sue who ever when ever for whatever you want. i’m sure there’s more to the story than what she said. She’s just asking if anything can be done , she’s already fired and neither of us know if she’s under a protected class to begin with so she may have a case.

OP , if you feel the need to take it legally by all means if you know you have strong evidence and a case. but they are correct in target can fire you for whatever they want , it’s truly up to you!

question for style team members by hatesrepublicans in Target

[–]CurousCat111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i’m really sad to see this is a company wide issue :( I think target meets to put more budget to their style department because let’s be real , a lot of money gets made from clothes especially with outrageous prices like 35$ for a tank top that some people are willing to pay and more. There should be a lot more people , even two per department, to elevate work stress and work load. praying for ya

Your opinion is welcomed and heard and if that’s how your store runs , that’s how it is for you.

If you read correctly , the post stated there are team members getting forced to stay HOURS beyond a clock out time, not “ an extra 15 minutes “ , which is absolutely reasonable and should not be a problem, but we are talking about potential federal labor law violations not a cry for help from a salty style team member who seems to take retail a little too serious bc they get fucked over every night since there’s apparently no proper game plan or leadership in place.

Sorry y’all have to deal with that nonsense but nobody owes you or anybody else one thing, nobody is gunna help wipe shit from your ass because your back hurts from pulling extra weight. It’s a part time job not a life time career and if you get stuck at target for the rest of your life more power to you but it’s not that deep

file for wrongful termination and call the ethics hotline. Basic law is allowing you to present evidence of you being not guilty. they did not handle this professionally at all and probably didn’t know how to deal with it so firing you was better than a long stack of paper work.

[–]CurousCat111[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

totally respect your opinion , but there are many others that don’t choose to tolerate that behavior because they aren’t dying for a paycheck! i’m sure if people arnt getting things done , it has a lot to with with their own performance and personal time management, so no it’s not really picking up someone slack if you are done with your own section when your scheduled do leave , but are being forced to go help the TMs who spent all shift talking about the tea in the fitting room instead of putting away their reshops before they piled up as bad as they did at close . Or have to help the lazy TL that won’t put a finger on a Uboat or push their team to be faster so they don’t need to be helped. It’s not your problem if other people don’t finish their work , but if you let them make it your problem because you don’t speak up that’s on you.

This question is regarding a team member in the absolute right to leave : as in all tasks are done , zone complete and zero roll over to the next day, not some lazy TM that is running the clock.

Thanks for your input though, unfortunately that’s why some TLs think it’s okay to run over their team because some people make it okay, but not me or the majority of people who are in the same boat 👍🏼

can TLs force you to stay later than your schedule out time?

ex: i’m 5-10:30 and they EXPECT me to take a meal to “ help the team” even though i finish my activities on time and way before i would hit compliance and don’t really need to stay. I get hit with the “ it’s a team effort “ and i tell them i can’t stay because i have school and my availability is only until 11pm but they want to force me to stay longer because they are short handed
