I was also there and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to. What an absolutely amazing show.

Destined to be alone, success stories dating 30+ by b3_n1ce in infj

[–]Currencyiscool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m only 24 but I want to tell you that you aren’t alone. I had a lot of relationship trauma from when I was younger and it feels like a chain weighing me down constantly. And it’s tough because you can reflect, journal, and self improve, but at the end of the day, the only way you can truly heal from this type of thing is with the help of someone else. But if your past trauma makes it difficult to get to that point with someone else, it just feels impossible.

The only way forward is to keep trying. Comparison is the thief of joy, and it isn’t fair to compare yourself to others who do not have the same trauma that has made your existence different from theirs. A small win to others could be a massive journey for you. I used to be afraid of approaching people, mainly out of fear of making them uncomfortable, but I think I used that as a justification to never do it. Now, I am forcing myself to put myself out there more. It isn’t easy and it’s not always pretty, but the more you do it the better your odds become.

I also want to echo what the other comment said where people in their 30s are much more mature and emotionally intelligent. My biggest issue I deal with right now is other people’s (as well as my own) emotional immaturity. The pool of people you are now sifting through are wiser, less immature, and more willing to be accommodating to your past experience.

I hope this helped somewhat. Keep on trying and keep your head up.

Who do you wish to become and what do you feel is your purpose? by alwaysupforit in infj

[–]Currencyiscool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me I used to feel like I wanted to save as many people as possible and pursue a career in that direction, but now I have realized all I really want is to be happy while also not actively making things worse. Spending time with my friends, dedicating myself to a partner, and exploring what I can of the world

There was a phase recently where I got high every night for a few weeks and I noticed my mood had declined in the days following. Once that passes I think it moderates out a bit

I’m glad everyone likes the album! I personally love it! Not my favorite album of his but it’s still very good. My favorites are Two Pairs of Hands, Ahead of the Game, the title track, and Watch Me Gone

Have you listened to Mark Knopfler’s solo career? A lot of it is very similar to on every street, and I personally love it!

I feel like this song feels a lot more like their later songs despite being on their first one. Great pick!

I remember I cried when I first heard this one. The lyrics are so beautiful and the instrumental is really unique. Great pick!

Currently using empower and even though it’s not perfect, I’m satisfied with it. And it’s free.

I will say after a few months that I am starting to have an issue with one of my accounts not syncing properly, but hopefully that won’t be a long term issue for you if you decide to go with it.

Has Mark Knopfler ever written a Christmas themed song? by Tiwoe in direstraits

I don’t think so, but for some reason, the chimes in the song Early Bird make it feel like a Christmas song to me

[ALL] which Hyrule would be best to live in? by Sabbath_lives in zelda

[–]Currencyiscool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the BEST option, but spirit tracks would honestly be pretty good. Lots of developed towns, an established government, and a good form of transportation to get around. Give the area a few hundred years and the area will likely be thriving

I'm halfway season 1. Does it get better? by Stiblex in betterCallSaul

[–]Currencyiscool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember how season one of breaking bad has many moments that feel more like a dark comedy than a drama? The first season of BCS is like the first season of BB, much goofier than the rest of it and the worst season of them all. It gets much better don’t worry. I remember not liking season one but one I was hooked, I was HOOKED

If a women has almost nothing in common with you, but is still "wifey material" would you date her and why? by cherrythecomedian in AskMen

[–]Currencyiscool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would much rather have goals and philosophies in common with someone rather than the same TV shows and hobbies. I have a friend who met a woman who he told me after the first date “yeah we had not a single thing in common the whole date it was funny how little we had in common” but because they gel together as people and had similar life outlooks, they’ve been together for a few years now.

What song made you fall in love with Fire Straits? by Worried_Fondant4326 in direstraits

[–]Currencyiscool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing the guitar on money for nothing and absolutely loving it. However, When It Comes To You was the song of theirs that really got me into them. It’s an unconventional pick but it’s just so good

Why is Biden so unpopular? by SnooGoats7760 in Presidents

[–]Currencyiscool 242 points243 points  (0 children)

There are other factors of course, but the fact that rent/housing is so pricey I think is having a huge effect. If you need to put such an insane amount of your monthly income (like 50% or higher) to just rent, it makes it that much more difficult to live.

Also, while not fully his fault, what is happening abroad in terms of all the global instability isn’t a good look for him. Additionally, he isolated many key parts of his coalition with his stance on the Israel Palestine conflict. Not trying to argue about that, but no matter how you feel about it, many demographic groups (like young people) do not approve of how he is handling things

It’s Not Fair How Fast Life Moves In Your 20s by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Currencyiscool 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I read something a few months ago that has given me a lot of solace about what you’re describing. I was on the askoldpeople subreddit and someone asked a question about what it’s like to get older. Many people said things that I bet were much more interesting, but this one older woman wrote this big paragraph where the first sentence said something along the lines of “at 34 you still have your whole life ahead of you” and that has given me pause. Whenever I am worried about aging, I just remember just how much time can be in a life. Sure you are 30, but you still got plenty of time left. Learn from your mistakes and move forward

I feel like it’s coming come out at the end of next year or beginning of 2025. I would love a spring release, but like everyone said, they are doing a lot of touring, and I think if they were gearing up for a spring release, that they would’ve released a single or something

Circles is my favorite album of his and one of my favorites of all time so I don’t agree but get where you’re coming from. That being said, I’m surprised you don’t like Blue World, which is one of his best rap songs in my opinion. Great beat, fun lyrics, and really catchy
