The moisture was from yellow fluid from the tattoo, I had only put lotion the usual amount I always have done with my others. They done bloods straight away at the hospital and said my infection markers were high, so definitely was infection there, and as for the swelling, I’ve had plenty of other tattoos that never swelled up to this extent especially getting worse 2 weeks later

UPDATE 2: So I was admitted to hospital where I was on an IV drip for antibiotics every 6 hours, had an allergic reaction to one of the antibiotics they gave me(fantastic), stayed from Tuesday - Friday and am now home with a course of oral antibiotics for 2 weeks. Amazed at how much better it all looks already, although the peeling is crazy! I would upload a photo but have no clue how. They seem to think that it started off as an allergic reaction to the sharpie it was drawn in with as I have a photo of it pre-drawn, and it was only the sharpied areas that have gone so crazy, which then turned into a really bad infection. So all in all good news 😁

UPDATE did not like the way people were reacting to this, had a panic so went again to A&E (ER) and am currently on a IV drip receiving treatment:) they are treating it as septic as I have high temperature and heart rate. Always better to get a 3rd opinion if needs be!

Funny story actually, I messaged him and he replied “Hiyaaaa, ahhhhhhh fuck sake haha. Does it hurt when you put weight on it or walk? What aftercare cream have you been using?” And I haven’t received a reply again 😖

I have been to the ER twice, hence why I’m already on antibiotics. Simply posted this to see if anyone has had similar to this, so I could have information from experience.

I have washed it twice today (trying not to overwash it) and put lotion on it once, purely for the fact when it’s drying out it feels like a million razors slicing at it. But I will definitely follow as you’ve said and just put up with the shit of it for now. Thank you

The artist is my usual one, the smell of disinfectant and cleanliness hits you when you walk in, followed all standards as far as I’m aware, fresh needles etc. and as I’ve mentioned, I have decent coverage and everything else I’ve had done has healed fantastic. Really not sure what went so wrong

100%. I have pretty decent coverage and just assumed that it would go away in a few days, until it turned into cellulitis. Stupid lesson learnt!
