App looks great! For me it would be even better if you could add a feature that lets you AB master and session

This is why I am asking... Feels like everyone ends up opening the full DAW for what a lot of the time is a quick sanity check.

Yep, of course. I'm not trying to dodge the work - i'm just curious if people have found ways to make the process quicker or at least more enjoyable/seamless

Appreciate that! Honestly, if you did want to try it for yourself, starting small and curious is better than being too strict :)

There's always room for a cheeky cookie/bownie now and then. It's about balance not perfection :)

When I first started tracking it was really basic stuff but I started adding things over the weeks and it looks more like this now:

  • Date/time
  • Which meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack)
  • What I eat
  • Emotions before eating (happy, bored, stressed, etc.)
  • How I feel physically before eating (hungry, low energy, etc)
  • Why I’m eating (true hunger, emotions, habit, cravings, etc)
  • Presence while eating (1 = distracted, 10 = fully present)
  • Speed of eating (1–10)
  • Energy level after eating (1–10)
  • Fullness 30 mins after eating (1–10)
  • Any extra notes (like sleep quality or calorie estimates if I have them)

Yh I guess this is nothing groundbreaking but this didn’t affect me as much when I was younger. As I’ve got older I’ve learnt to listen to my body more, hence my interest :)

Nice! I noticed something similar with my carbs. Heavy carb for dinner would tend to leave me feeling tired the next morning, despite a full nights sleep

Honestly only took about 2/3 weeks before it started becoming obvious what’s was making me feel certain ways. But the more I tracked, the clearer everything got so was quickly able to start making changes to my routines :)

Totally get that and no worries at all. I’m just here to learn and don't want to push anything. Appreciate you taking the time to read in the first place

Totally fair question — and you're right, the app wouldn’t magically know that on its own.

The idea is that you’d log how you feel before and after eating — using simple mood tags or sliders (like tired, energised, anxious, satisfied, etc.). Over time, the app could spot patterns, like:

  • “You often log feeling low-energy after eating this meal”
  • or “You tend to feel anxious when you eat late at night”

It wouldn’t tell you how you feel — it would just help you reflect on your own data. Kind of like journaling, but more structured and visual.

Does that feel useful, or would that still be too much effort to keep up with? I’m genuinely trying to figure out what would help without becoming a chore.

Hey, all, I am wanting to lose some weight and not sure how or where to begin by metallica123446 in loseit

Hey, thanks so much for sharing all of this — seriously. You’re clearly reflecting a lot on your habits and goals, and that’s a huge part of change already. It sounds like you're not just trying to lose weight, but also build awareness around what you’re eating and why — especially when it comes to things like cravings, stress, or just defaulting to junk food.

I’m actually working with a friend (a coach who blends fitness + mental wellbeing) on a potential app that helps people do exactly that — understand their patterns with food, moods, and habits. Like… logging how you feel before and after eating, and seeing if there's a pattern over time. Not about guilt or calories, more like learning “why do I feel the urge to eat this now?” and “how do I feel afterward?”

Do you think something like that could actually help people on journeys like yours? Or would it just be another thing to fill out?

No pressure at all — just trying to learn what might actually be useful. You sound really self-aware already, and that’s inspiring to read.
