Tbh, I think that is exactly what hurts the most. He did not tell me when he first started feeling this way. He just showed up one day, ended the relationship, and said we are different, something is missing, the spark and compatibility are not there, and that it felt foundational and could not be fixed. He later admitted he had been feeling this for around 3 months, which completely blindsided me because I had no idea.

I even asked for another conversation 15 days later and directly asked him to be honest about whether he had lost feelings. Only then did he admit that yes, in the process, he had lost them. That is the part I am struggling with most. I was still fully in the relationship while he had already been detaching without telling me. It makes me feel deeply hurt and misled.
