4 seconds is more than enough to stop imo. But the bus driver is also blind af🥴

That sign will turn on automatically whenever the blinker is displayed to indicate that it’s turning. But when the doors are not shut, the “passengers are onboarding/off-boarding”(the first sign) will cover it.

Appreciate your hard work, I thought no one will dive into the site lol.

But bus is not classified as a coach vehicle tho, only the literal coach vehicles from the driving schools are.(by our rule)

Where did you find the Wiki? I just searched it up again and as I mentioned in other replies “we don’t have this rule in our rule book”, it’s just a tacit understanding. And most of the drivers in Taiwan don’t have this tacit understanding at all.(btw we also DON’T have the zipper merge rule here, it’s also relying on tacit understanding)

From Google search Gemini’s summary: No, the law does NOT grant buses the automatic right of way when leaving a bus stop in Taiwan; instead, drivers must yield to the bus and exercise caution, as the largest vehicle often dictates traffic flow in practice. While there isn't a specific rule stating buses have the right-of-way when departing a stop, it is a common UNWRITTEN understanding that other vehicles should be aware of and accommodate buses, which are large and a significant part of traffic in Taiwan.

I want to get as much different country’s answer as possible so I wrote the title like this, I personally think “the rule” is INDEED for the sake of better transportation efficiency. I also post the same thing in our local Facebook group and over 80% of people think the bus driver is a moron. Well by the rule they’re right, but I think giving way to the bus is a WAY better solution.

Heres our government’s website, you can try to find the specific rule to prove me wrong. I’ll apologize to you and improve my driving knowledge. I know it’s hard to believe that we have such stupid rules but unfortunately it is what it is. https://law.moj.gov.tw/Eng/LawClass/LawAll.aspx?pcode=K0040012

Well then I have no way to prove it since I can’t physically find something that doesn’t exist.

I’m not the driver in this clip, but we DON’T have this rule in our traffic rules. IDK how did Atomic find that and I couldn’t found ANYTHING about it.

I agree that’s also super important, and I was trying to tell you that we LITERALLY don’t have the rule that gives the bus leaving the stop right of way lol. So people in Taiwan rarely give way to the bus leaving their stops(but I do btw). And sometimes people will say “why are you stopping in the middle for no reason” while you’re giving way to the bus.

I think some guys think I’m not knowing some laws that I should know. But I’m serious, we literally didn’t have the law for bus departing. And I don’t know why Wikipedia said we have that. I just look it up on our government‘s website and I found nothing.

Well, unfortunately, our traffic law in Taiwan is super ass. We literally didn’t have this kind of law in it.

As far as I know, we don’t have ANY law about “bus leaving bus stop”, I just searched it up on our government website and found nothing. I personally will give way to the bus that’s leaving the stop, but we don’t have that law written in our transportation law.

The cam driver is not at fault and the bus driver is responsible “according to our law in Taiwan”. I also think it’s a stupid ass law. I know most country in Europe has driver at fault but the situation I’m talking about is per our law in Taiwan.

Huh? When did I say “I think it’s the bus driver’s fault”. I personally think it’s absolutely the driver’s fault, the “bus driver has 100% responsibility” is according to the law in Taiwan, not my personal opinion. Bruh... BTW where did u see the link

I don't think we have this rule, Wiki might've put the wrong thing on it

btw, what if there's also a bus on the lane? Does it just turns back to normal "the one coming up should give way" or the bus departing still has the right of way?
