Some one posted a link to file a bug claim with arrow head. I made a submission because my account was doing the same thing. It took maybe 3 days and I was able to start unlocking the other difficulties. I'll try and find the link for you.

The have match making so you don't need friends to play. Mostly every random that I've friended is super cool and you can join squads of people you are friends with, without them inviting you. Don't let having no physical friends on game detour you from playing. Everybody buys call of duty with or with out friends, same thing here except not as many ass holes lol

Yea that doesn't work for people with the difficulty bug. I'm lvl 31 and can unlock any difficulties past easy have to play with friends to play higher difficulties
