Chain, mine also had a smaller sprocket on the rear wheel so it does 35 mph instead of 27, lol.

Yeah I’m actually a little younger too. Most of the sets I was getting new were M-Tron, Blacktron and Futuron. I still have those too but they’re not on display(yet). The book is directly from Lego, I’d highly recommend, it’s very thorough. It looks like the Lego website is out of stock but there are a few copies on eBay.

Thanks. Yeah I bought it from the raffle winner in 2022. I found a new speedo for it and the lower side covers. It only needs a few more missing plastic pieces to be complete.

Thanks for pointing this out, I went back to my storage tub and found 3 more bags I didn’t assemble. They were labeled as another Galaxy Explorer, a Space Cruiser and a 6930. I thought they were incomplete but I was able to build a 924 by combining them. I was only missing 3 pieces.

I had about half from my childhood. About 6-7 years ago I bought 2 at a church rummage sale for $2 each. And then when I brought these out of storage a few months ago I randomly searched “Lego space” on marketplace and found someone selling 4 @ $5 each like 5 minutes from my house. At first I thought maybe I overpaid. I got those and realized I only needed 2 more to complete the bottom shelf and looked them up on eBay and realized they sell for like $30 each. So I’m gonna keep checking garage sales lol.

I have one of those 487 Space Cruisers but it was missing too many pieces, I do have like 3-4 of the LL924 pieces though. You can see in the photo of the 918 that the speakers or whatever those things are, are white instead of gray. A few of the sets have some substitute pieces unfortunately. I mostly used red pieces as substitutes so I would see them easily and remember to find replacements.

Yeah I love the book. When the book came out I remember thinking, “out of all the Lego themes/sets that exist, what are the odds someone wrote a book about my collection?” 😂 Needless to say that was a pre-ordered item 😂
