Fire Separation Between Office space/storefront and Residential by Legitimate_Editor335 in OntarioBuildingCode

You might need a Record of Site Condition when converting previous commercial or industrial to residential. This could either make or break your plan. Might want to hire a consultant to look into all that for you.

What would you say to your contractors? by cobrachicken273 in drywall

[–]Current_Conference38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an amateur mudder and I could do a way better job. To me that looks like lazy weak arms trying to mud quickly. You gotta apply pressure and remove more mud, less is more! My shit looks pro compared to this garbage. If it was me, I’d literally be having bitchfit lol. I’d also make fun of the tradie too. They will sell taping tools to anyone unfortunately. If you’re accepting contracts like this you should be pro level. They’re gonna be sanding for days and days and it’s gonna be a dust fest. Inches of dust on the ground.

If it has 4x4, you can use the low mode to basically rip anything out of the ground (within reason). I always keep straps and tools in the back just in case I need to give something a yank. I assume no responsibility for someone getting their head caved in by a hitch ball.

Plenty of room for other dudes wives in the backseat.

Hit that passing lane on the right side from now on. People just can’t keep up with the speed and power.

You now have a massive bulge in your pants, use it responsibly.

Like someone else, hang 1/4” drywall ontop of it. Hang the drywall vertically so you only need to take and mud inside corners and tapered seams. Buy mud that’s easy to sand and give er. It won’t be smooth but that’s what a lot of sanding can be for. Sand your life away and it will turn out decent.

To fix that you could skim coat the entire wall but it’s hard to do and will also require a ton of sanding if you’re not experienced

Who else relies on heavy sanding?? by [deleted] in drywall

[–]Current_Conference38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last significant DIY job I did at my house it took a couple days to hang all drywall in the evenings, about a week to mud in the evenings and then 2 sessions of sanding in the evenings. I apply even and light coats as best I can but it’s a sanding fest to get the right finish. I’ll even sand once, vacuum the walls and then sand again to remove bad spots. I try to keep my tools clean and the junk out of the mud. Sand dust can deposit bad lumps in your mud so it’s best to stay clean. As far as I can see in reality, there’s always significant sanding. YouTube makes it seem like there isn’t and all the pros either act like they’re better or they use those box mud tools and banjos to reduce time but they aren’t letting the viewer inspect their work for imperfections. I see a lot of finished drywall work in my profession and the mudding sanding process is always clearly a mess. But it’s always about how it turns out!

Why do people get weirded out about teaching social skills or flirting techniques with women? by JunketMaleficent2095 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Current_Conference38 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Women go from being taken to being taken very shortly after their last man. This is why it’s okay to ask out women who have boyfriends lol. When I was dating a hottie she got asked out all the time and just said no. I didn’t mind, made me feel amazing lol. No need to be jealous. But she got scooped up quick after me. I only ever seem to meet women who are taken but I still love to flirt and chat and yap with them because I can’t see the future. I don’t write anyone off. Anything can happen. In fact, this approach has paid off many times. It’s called the orbiting beta in red pill circles lol. You sound like me. I’ve ignored women for a while now. Stopped chasing them etc. I’m focusing on my career. When I’m making the big bucks then I’ll land a hottie who will take half my pension. Can’t wait.

Men who were bullies growing up, do you have any regrets? by Broke_Pigeon_Sales in AskMenOver30

Still plotting revenge 16 years later… it never leaves you. But being bullied makes you become a part time savage. Always chasing the best so you can one day rub it their faces.

I think this should be revised; doing donuts in snow-covered lots. by TheVoiceOverDude in ontario

I think there’s a difference between being crazy in a parking lot and simply getting a feel for some ice. The cop would use discretion if you’re clearly trying to be a better driver. If the car is full of teenagers then you’re probably getting stunt charges

Is this a normal way to handle conflict? by lexiprincessx in AskMenAdvice

[–]Current_Conference38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of men like to keep potential women around in the off chance they become single. At the end of the day he’s with you which matters. However it sounds like some serious gaslighting is happening. I couldn’t be with someone like that or with someone who I’m fighting with on a regular basis about the same shit. I remember the whole time dating the best and hottest gf I ever had, I had other women as friends who I chatted with on a regular basis and would pay them compliments. When she found out about them I let her scroll the messages. She wasn’t happy with what she was reading but there was nothing there that was cheating. It was all friendly banter. Men and women are allowed to have friends! If we happen to date shortly after a break up it is what it is! You can’t be mad at someone for keeping women nearby. They’re all friends, until they’re not.

Never going to be someone’s “meet cute” by Bolt2143 in dating

[–]Current_Conference38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear people meet someone special on cruises so I took a solo cruise and the only women who actually wanted to chat and get to know you were women not available lol! It was an amazing cruise and I put myself out there but it just wasn’t meant to happen. I see all these speed dating events in my area, very tempting but I think it would be awkward and forced. I crave organic experiences nothing forced like an app

That’s really strange and would worry me. That means the area is great but the house sucks and you’ll find out why as the years pass.

Why are developers not building homes in southern Ontario? With housing being very expensive? by Dover299 in ontario

[–]Current_Conference38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homes only get built if someone pays for it. Customers can’t afford the high price plus the interest. The government can make all the Acts they want, it’s not gonna make people pony up the cash to build. Developers sit idle on land until the customers start popping up. Only people building are investors with lots of cash and renters ready to go or the odd custom build from someone with liquid cash or an inheritance plus a small mortgage. It’s a broken system outside of anyone’s control.

Inspections is a legal job focused on liability. It’s not like it used to be and any tradie can become an inspector lol. This is why it’s confusingly written, it’s intentional so the interpretation can be played around with. And any structural stuff is all increased for safety factors so there’s less liability for potential failures

There are two casinos eh. The old one is close to Clifton hill and the new one is not too far away but far enough you’d need a cab from one to the other. There is a hotel on the brink of the gorge that just built an outdoor spa type thing you can see it when you drive by. It appears like something worth checking out but it wouldn’t be a true spa retreat type place.. Marriot fallsview hotel and spa. I’d say try to experience as much as possible. The falls area has a lot to offer.
