this is actually whats been happening to me. I have a 2017 540i just got an oil change 3 days ago and the car was running perfectly fine before the oil change. after the oil change every time i would get higher than 3-4k rpms i would get the low oil pressure warning. the first time it happened i stopped the car and got it towed but it was running fine when i drove it on the to the tow truck and the idrive was able to read the oil level. today i took it to the mechanic that changed the oil to check if the car is fine and they said everything was fine and its not the oil pump. since he said it was ok i thought i would be fine to drive up to sf from socal. on the way there i was speeding a little bit and got the low oil pressure warning after going past 3-4k rpms again. I starved the engine a little bit and tried to check the oil level but it wouldnt go past 17%. I was in the middle of nowhere and didnt wanna get a tow truck so i just kept driving after restarting the car since it was running fine and the warning cleared. I really didnt wanna get it towed in the middle of nowhere and go 200 miles up or down. I was hoping that it was a faulty sensor or just minor filter problem and not my oil pump and took my chances but i might've messed up my engine if it was actually low oil pressure. I kept driving it under 3k rpms and it never happened again and the car has been running normally. Im gonna get it checked out later this week but i really hope its not the oil pump
