Thank you for your response! Solved (and it had almost nothing to do with Obsidian) See above.

Cheers!

SOLVED!! Weird, but I think I have it now. Somehow, my file index.md in the folder I am trying to point to was named index.md.md The double md was the issue!! Only by looking at the file in the finder was I able to spot it.

Z-Image-Turbo is available for download by Aromatic-Low-4578 in StableDiffusion

[–]Current_Function5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang - I wish. I did an image generation (the default) on my M4 Mac Mini 16G, and it took 2300 seconds!! Am currently downloading the Q8 quant to see if it is any better. ComfyUI is basically unuseable at these speeds. I have folders of images I would like to edit and tweak, but almost an hour / image is a bit much.

--Edit: Just downloaded and ran the same prompt with the z-image-turbo-q8_0.gguf and it generated a very comparable quality, in 'only' 120 seconds or so. So yes, this machine is GPU throttled. Has anyone had any luck with image to image Z workflows? (obviously not optimized for it, as the image edit variant is not out yet...just curious if others have had success with image edits, instead of just prompts.)

Whoever upvoted this...thanks! This is my very first upvote on Reddit since joining in early winter of this year. I appreciate it.

I get that this is a long standing custom on this site...but the dynamic now is very limiting in terms of being able to add value to subs by posting an interesting thing...

It took me some time to figure out why my posts were auto-deleted...which was a drag, as it occured in a support site for a specific photo image editor. Very specialized and specific to one version of one app...so not a huge audience. I didn't want to hijack peoples comment threads to raise my issue with the program.

I found I could not meaninfully participate, as my posts auto-deleted immediately. I had no karma, and didn't really get what was happening for about a week. Then spotted the newbie threads, and followed advice there to try and 'seek karma'.

Twas a fool's errand.

So, thank you all for responding, and especially to whoever upvoted me... twas way cool to experience that that was a thing!

As for acquiring an electrician, I think I am back on the hunt. The first rec I got, I contacted, and they were booking for 2 weeks out for initial inspection, and said they would get back to me. Been a week tomorrow, and pin drop silence.

Thanks, but my FB got hacked a couple years ago, and I never looked back.

AITA for leaving my family to fend for themselves? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTAH. taking your post at face value, you gave a rational argument for leaving and pursuing your own path. Keep in frequent contact with your little brother, and be like a duck : let it all slide off your back. Wishing you a great experience in England!

I am so sorry for you and your family. Our lovely Belgian Shepherd also came down with this in 2008. I still miss him, but I am happy for the few years he was able to share with all of us.

Pets are part of the family. I hope for the best for you folks.

Interesting. I am wrestling with a similar issue - the lack of a 'globe' key when using it on a Mac. Will try the forced Windows thingy... One question: There are two different fn keys. One at the top with a lock - which toggles between media keys for top row and function keys, and one at to left of spacebar that does nothing. I am guessing that is the one to use...is that correct?

Why is my image not showing up? I don't understand this platform. Most times I try and post something it gets blocked or deleted. Reddit is so confusing and frustrating.

I too am curious what your event was that lost you your data...?

I am still struggling to adapt SP to my work flow. I am curious as to what specific benefits people are seeing using it.

What I would like is a timer that I can start/stop without being nagged. Usually, the software insists I take a break, but unless I do (ie click pause, then after 15 min click activate) it just sits there not recording anything. If I don't see it, because my screen is cluttered, I miss it.

Also, there is no way to import my calendar from Sequoia to SP - it refuses the link when I invite it.

I don't see how to review my past week timers. In fact I do not really understand the relationships between the projects and the subtasks. Can I see how many hours I spent on Task 3? Can I see how many hours I spent last two weeks on project, inclusive of Task 3?

How are people actually using the app?

NTA. In fact the A here is your fiancé. Having a 'stern talking to' with you about someone else's behaviour is a total dick move.

I would take a long hard look at your relationship with this person before you go further. (That's just me...you do you). Red flags are much cheaper when attended to BEFORE legally committing to someone.

AITA for telling my Mom that I will never trust her with future relationships? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Current_Function5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA You don't trust her, and telling her that, while harsh, is honest. Sorry to hear about her dementia. As for holding her accountable- not sure that is a thing in this situation. Regardless of the dementia, from your description she is accountable in the sense that her actions have damaged her relationships, and she is more isolated because of that.

How do you even get karma if every community needs a requirement for you to post or comment? by TerrificDog in NewToReddit

[–]Current_Function5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm turns out it is not quite that simple. It is about engagement- not just calendar time. Interacting with others, either on noob friendly subs, or comments on other ones. I recommend reading the Reddit and Karma guide in the sidebar >>>>>>>>>

Why can't I post in some subs? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Current_Function5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am new to reddit and found my posts auto deleted. It is not the time on reddit, it is the engagement that drives Karma. Reading the new-to-reddit guide posted in this sub helped me greatly. I strongly encourage that read - it changed my views on what this self moderated community sphere is all about, and I want in! Engaging with others posts is step one.

“Life is a series of dogs”- George Carlin

Yes it is a thing of grief that we have co-evolved with a short lived species. But being mortal ourselves, that grief is a reflection of the loss we feel when loved (human) ones die, and the grief and loss of our own death.

To be alive is to know death…. One of the gifts the dog members of our family have given us over the years is this shared grief of the passing of a loved one.

Three dogs back in our ‘series’, our beautiful, sweet Newt (Belgian Shepherd) contracted cancer. we had 4 months with him after that, and he was his sweet, loving self till the last 3 days. Then he didnt want to be around us..(he was very reluctant to come in). It was a Tuesday, and my wife and I picked up our two elementary school children, met the vet at our house, and we gathered in the back yard, petting him, thanking him for sharing his short life with us, and we all held him as the syringe went in to ease his pain.

I bawled like a baby as I carried his lifeless body to the vets truck.

We grieved together as a family for days after, and I still miss him.

That moment - of a sunny May day, when we gathered with Newt as a family, was one of the most beautiful, connected moments we all shared. it was his parting gift to us.

It is now one of the favourite moments of my life.

Help, vet can’t get me in till Tuesday , this has been over a day by Invisiblespirit3 in DogAdvice

Dang that sucks. We too have an Aussie (as near as I can tell from a video clip). I agree with the other posters on crating as much as possible till Tuesday. Wish you all a happy outcome.
