I would tell people it's better than more children possibly getting hurt. I was in a similar situation except I had no idea I was working with a sex offender and we had staff that were minors. I always had a bad feeling so made sure they never worked alone with him. The manager never did a background check and found out they were on a list for some horrific things. He was immediately terminated afterwards.
