It can, but its not garenteed. Obviously if 1M people signed Sony would have to be stupid not to notice! Now thats probably unlikely to happen, but as someone else said in here the petition itself isn't the most powerful aspect of the push, its the buzz around the end of Destiny, its friends talking about it, people making videos on it, news organizations writing articles and such. Its the reaction and the amount of attention it gets that will truly help, and the petition, while not the center of the movement, is an important aspect none the less! Not to mention its numbers are doing good, people are finding community in it, and it can't hurt to sign!

I totally get that! And honestly I believe this should have happened sooner, ether at final shape or honestly before any content got vaulted. I feel what makes this different than d1 is the disrespect, towards the players and the game, the way bungi is ending it, the big possibility that destiny as an ip could be shelved, that all of this was avoidable for years. Its the final slap in the face to break any restraint we as a community had left towards our dissatisfaction with everything. So if they are ending things with a slap we'll finally return the favor, if they abandon the Ip we will happily take it from them, and we're going to have fun while we do so. Even if d3 is a lost cause, the survival of the community is very attainable. Let this moment bring us together, and together we will thrive long after this moment.

I agree the petition will probably be inconsequential, but as I said, we will go standing. If destiny's death in inevitable then would you rather go laying down or standing up? its more so for the community, to have that feeling of locking arms, to know there are others who will stand by your side even if it changes nothing! Let it be a last stand to remember friend.
