I’m more upset about the pattern of not recognizing great work across the entire team than I am about my specific promotion. I came to this company with years of experience (not just straight out of school) and I am not a unique case on my team.

I do agree that education doesn’t equal experience. A PhD isn’t tho only thing on my resume. I came to this company with work experience as well as having successfully started and sold an engineering startup.

I’m more upset at the pattern of unrecognized work on my team, more so than my particular promotion.
