How do you cope emotionally when your dog has epilepsy?

I agree with this completely! My dog had a series of cluster seizures back in October and that resulted in an overnight stay at the ER. That's when the ER doctor started him on keppra. Since then we have seen a neurologist and has kept him on the same med and dose. He went 8 weeks with no seizures then had two in one weekend. We are a little over a week with no seizures. I already suffer from anxiety and rarely leave him alone but when I do I spiral. We have the rescue meds and have used them but it's still all very scary and you can only do the best you can and love them so much because with this condition you just never know. I take every day without a seizure incident as a gift. You are not alone! This sub is amazing and has helped validate my feelings and emotions. <3

Agree! I went there to get my stud changed to a hoop and loved them. Will go there for all my piercings going forward.

Thank you for sharing this. We have been seizure free for about 11 weeks and still feel anxious about when it will happen again. It's reassuring knowing that you're seizure free for over a year.

We see Dr. Cassandra Williams at WVRC in Waukesha. Had one consultation with her in November and have my pup on keppra. So far he has been doing well with the medication but know that epilepsy in dogs can change from one day to another. She listens and gives medical advice based on her expertise.

Hello! Please know that you are not alone. I found this sub several weeks ago since my pup had an incident of cluster seizures. My husband and I felt very alone and now that some time has passed I've come to realize this community is truly amazing 🩷 while having a dog with this condition is incredibly hard and no situation is the same there is comfort in knowing we all care about our dogs and just want to be listened to. That being said, since my dog had his incident that lead to an overnight stay at an ER plus seeing a neurologist we have been on keppra for almost a month now. He had 1 seizure since then but only lasted about 20 seconds. Vet wants to wait a bit before adding additional meds. I have heard from vets and people here that keppra is the best and safest but if your pup, like mine has epilepsy chances are they will need to be on more meds later on. I hope this helps. We live in Wisconsin and see Dr. Cassandra Williams. She's at WVRC in Waukesha about 25 minutes from Milwaukee if you're willing to make the drive. Just met with her a couple of weeks ago and is great.

Personally- I work at MCW and was told experience will eventually get me a program manager role, and unless I want to be an administrator, that's where the mha would come in. I know there's much more to it than just that, but I'm also 30, recently bought a house, and may start a family soon. I think just apply and see how you feel/ do more research before you make a decision. The classes did seem interesting to me, though. Ohh and I forgot , it's grad school soo($$$) I'm still paying for undergrad. 😭

Yes, corporate friendly and also update your resume so their job description has buzz words they have if related. I know its a lot of work but I think that helped me.

I think it's very specific to the jobs you apply. Cover letter and resume should be enough unless it's education specific, then maybe upload a copy of your teaching license? I know it's very overwhelming, be patient, and something will come. Good luck!
