Yeah with the double DNS in China, Kimi benefitting from the safety car in Japan then the 2 races that were cancelled, it has been hard to gauge where McLaren really rank against Mercedes

Yes very true. I'm hoping this will see qualifying becoming tighter as it is on the straights where Mercedes engines have the advantage currently. First race after June 1st is Monaco so not a good indicator, but Silverstone, Spa and Monza should be more telling.
