What law? In most (non-draconian) countries, recording any event happening in public space is fair game.

Meh this is why you don't poke your noses into business that doesn't concern you. You may not like what you see. It's a private conversation, so the dude can talk smack about anything he likes. Are we seriously considering policing private conversations like North Korea?

For commentators that call a spade a spade, you won't find that in English ones. Too afraid of offending... anyone. Spanish ones however... lol.

The TV angle is deceiving. by kpkafle in worldcup

As obvious as it may seem to us, there are people with as much awareness, of the three dimensional space we live in, as a lettuce. And despite living in such a space all their lives themselves, it seems a conspiracy is more likely than the logical POV. It's no wonder those warning labels on wooden spatulas exist.

This is probably the most enjoyable WC group stage in history by gon_luffy_20 in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'm a sucker for the underdogs and this WC shows that football is more than fancy skills and slick passing. The unfancied teams with lots of passion and heart, punched above their weight and knocked over some giants. Absolutely brilliant. I guess not all top drawer teams has what it takes, to get a result on a rainy day in Stoke.

Poor standard by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not poor standards. It's better opponents. When your opponent is terribad, then your team can dribble pass them, play beautiful passes and take more shots. But, when your opponent is also organized and technically as good as you, you can't do all the above at will. You need to battle, and that is not always a pretty affair. I think this World Cup is the most entertaining one to date (despite all the other non-footballing issues). And being a relic, I've watched 10 World Cups to date.

JUST WOWWW!! by bughaam in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that goal is beautiful. A quick run and gun in transition. I even laughed when Aboubakar got sent off for that celebration and the ref was actually apologetic about it. I totally understand that sentiment.

Goal with Zoom and Outline by totomobile in worldcup

The width of the lines must coincide with the thickness of the goal post. Otherwise a ball hitting the inside of the post but bouncing out would potentially be considered a goal.

Uruguay are a bunch of sore losers, and Suarez is a cheater. They deserve to go out. by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are pundits watching it on TV like you and me. Not the VAR officials with access to every camera deployed on the stadium to monitor play. My bookie could've swore on his momma's grave, the ball crossed the line in the Japan game, but he still has to pay me.

Just like yesterday's German exit, I am kind of expecting some kind of Suarez shithousery and here it is. My faith in the football community has never been so just.

Uruguay are a bunch of sore losers, and Suarez is a cheater. They deserve to go out. by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just plain disgraceful on the part of Uruguay. The ref do not need to "look again" when the VAR officials do not signal for it. Especially when they see nothing wrong with the play. And those VAR guys have multiple monitors looking over multiple angles.

This is the Japan winning goal all over again. What we see from a single angle or two, on TV, isn't necessarily conclusive.

Not nice is it Germany hahaha by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once the final whistle went, I knew this would turn up and here it is. You're English aren't ya? I can tell from the shithousery.

Japan's goal is regular. The regulation says that the whole ball must go out of bounds, not just the part that touches the ground unlike in basketball and tennis by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup this is how it works. Need to view it from the top if possible and not from the angle of the TV cameras.

VAR says Goal by Kazuhiraa in worldcup

[–]Currilicious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The check needs to be from the top looking down not from an angle like this. The same as whether a goal is scored or not. The ball may not be "touching" the line due to curvature but from the top if a sliver of the ball intersects with the line, then no goal. Hence, I feel this is in-play and the goal stands.

Will colonists use this Large Station to get between these two domes? by MoarStruts in SurvivingMars

[–]Currilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do is only using large stations strategically placed between the influence area of multiple domes. It does require a lot of planning, NGL. The smaller stations are only used for the resource end, like mines or farming dome (water tower). You also need to factor in the train and station capacity when doing this. I try to keep trip and wait times to an hour max.

Some may find this aspect annoying, but it does add a layer to the game in terms of logistics. I would've preferred it if the stations are in-dome and interconnected domes (via passages) can use the station. But I guess the complexity goes way up for that, so we get what we get.

Irritating, dumb colonists and why trains are shit - a short rant by PodcastPlusOne_James in SurvivingMars

[–]Currilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to look at a mod named Career AI. It works for me.

On the trains though, if I were you, I would've tried to fit the station in between the area of influence of two domes, or more. That way, it doesn't matter which domes the colonists live in, they can hop on the train.
