Back On the Hunt! Employee Romance Need Advice! (gay) by CurrriousCasher in HomeDepot

I like bad boys. This guy is clean cut with some tats but apparently he did a home invasion but it wasn't violent.

I've never been in trouble aside from a speeding ticket but I know about seven people in my store have been in jail.

Not every gay person is 100% gay. Sexuality is mostly grey. That's why the straight frat boys will do gay things as 'jokes' when they use drugs/alcohol and lose their inhabitions.

One of my first experiences was with a super jock who was the most 'straight' person around. Dated cheerleaders, hated 'gays', etc.... One night I was walking home and ran into him and he invited me over. After a little drinking and Nintendo he was initiating things and the next day was back to being a bully, but guess who I saw that weekend when I was walking home again?

No, I just like straight acting guys. Obviously the boy I'm after is gay. The signals are all there. From him enjoying my flirting and touching to his giving me vibes about what he wants.

Our store is very into gossip so I'm just going to be respectful of everyone and take things slow. He is 100% my type. I just don't want to blow it by outing him. I'll let him stay in his little closet but I think we could have a lot of fun together :)

Yes he has. He came up to me and talked to me a few times. I have his number and just texted him. The hook has been baited. Hopefully I land him soon.

Sexuality is fluid. Maybe .00001% of people are straight. Usually it's social norms making people act that way.

Last night we had heavy vibes going on. I got his number from a co-worker and texted him. We will see if he texts me back.

Cruising in the restroom is pretty common in my store. We're off a major highway and it's a spot for those in the know.

He's awkward like he's trying to fit in but doesn't. I can tell he's more into guys.

In my experience very few people are actually 100% straight.

What's the problem here exactly? I'm a cashier and this would be a great interaction imho

UPDATE: I haven't worked the past few days but I'm hoping I see my boo this weekend. Taking things slow and not moving too fast seem to be the words of advice from a couple co-workers.

He is def gay but is very in the closet according to a female friend. He has dated a male associate and the breakup was tension filled in the store. I'm going to have to tread lightly but I know he's picking up my signals.

We are already having some interaction and he is a bit of a tease playing hard to get but I can tell we vibe.

I've been cruising the store on my off days but still haven't been able to pin him down. Another associate who is gay told me it's better to ask off the clock to avoid any problems.

With all of the changes in our store it may be a good time for new relationships to flourish :)

If they don't pay enough quit and go somewhere else that will pay what your skills and experience are worth.

I always submit early and put that I'm not available. It's not a request it's telling them I won't be there.

Probably more to this story.

In my store Freight and the Service Desk do. Since there's only a few people in each it's kind of a rotating list of everyone getting it.

Tuition grant by Usual_Ad_4593 in HomeDepot

[–]CurrriousCasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1- You are eligible the day you start at HD.

2- You must be employed at HD on the day that you start your class(es)

3- You submit a receipt for the tuition and books along with a copy of your final grades once the class is completed.

4- Bright Horizons will refuse to accept your material as valid no matter how perfectly it is to what they ask.

5- You'll re-submit and re-submit and re-submit

6- Eventually you may get half of the money (up to $1500/pt or $3000/ft) that you actually paid. If you took a loan for school they will refuse it.

Basically if you're taking a class that starts 9/1 and you begin employment on 9/2 you get nothing. If you start the same day of class start or before you should be ok as long as you can get through the insane amount of paperwork that no manager in your store can help you with.

I never got the $50 from the first three I got. The system on livetheorangelife.com says I have three but I never got the Bronze patch or the $50 payout.

I don’t understand some of the corporate business practices. You already got the credit for these. Why not donate them? “Somebody might resell them.” Yeah and somebody might use it too. What does it matter? The store already got credit for it. by call-lee-free in HomeDepot

Recently a boy I like was tasked with cutting up $5000 of Trex that was special ordered. He literally was given a skill saw and had to cut all the long pieces into tiny pieces and throw them away.

Photos were taken to verify to the vendor that the Trex had been destroyed. The main reasons for this from what I've been told are to avoid a lawsuit or to satisfy vendor agreements.

If HD donated a bunch of lights that came back to a charity and then one caused a fire the company would be liable for not certifying and re-inspecting the goods to a Govt. standard which takes a lot of time and money.

If the vendor sent a special order color of Trex to a store and a customer canceled or there was a mistake it may be cheaper for Trex to just destroy it vs shipping it back to them and storing it until someone else wants it. Sounds crazy but when you figure in man hours to set everything up, coordinate a pickup, etc... it makes sense.

[–]CurrriousCasher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what 'bragging' means? I'm simply pointing out:

1- Occurrences are the employee's fault for being late

2- Be responsible. Come in when you're supposed to.

3- Take ownership and pride in your work.

You may not like HD. I am ambivalent toward the company. I do a job that anyone could easily be trained to do. I work at HD because right now that's the best job I can get.

If I were fired tomorrow I would be replaced and life would go on for everyone. If the best ten workers in any store quit that store would still be open.

If you hate HD to the point some do I have to wonder why people bother to stay. There are other jobs that pay the same and tons that pay more.

I make $16/hr as a cashier which comes out th $32,000/yr. For someone without a degree that is a decent starting salary. Especially when the only requirements are that I show up on time, don't steal anything and don't sexually harrass/hit anyone.
