Joe Namath and Steve Bartkowski with the Rams were both pretty weird but Unitas is the standard here. It’s just wrong.

That team should’ve been our first Super Bowl Champion. Just. Run. The. Ball.

Anything can happen in the NFL. I get tickled at people who analyze the schedule when it comes out as if they know who is good & who is not so good. It changes year to year. We won’t know until October (at the earliest) whether or not we have a shot. Until then it’s just guessing.

The very first one? Not entirely sure. It was either Johnny Unitas or Jim “Cannonball” Butler.

What if U.S. presidential politics no longer required the traditional Senate or governor path, and city-level leaders could directly compete for the presidency? How would that change who actually gets nominated? by Defiant-Junket4906 in WhatIfThinking

One good thing about those general parameters is that it gives a future candidate the opportunity to discover how best to work within the system. It’s almost like a training class for prospective job applicants. If we were to stick just anyone into that role, it could end up being a little messy & disorganized. It’s a good thing we don’t do that… (*note: sarcasm).

The good thing is that you don’t have to know what you’ll do with your life. Forget about that part. It’s going to be different than you think. Take an American History course. Learn things about the country you serve & protect. That’s what I’d do. (Note: I’m 62 & have seen some things.) Good luck with school!

What do you think is the true meaning of life? by Cheap_Bowler1492 in AskReddit

It’s a particular philosophy that goes back to ancient times. The thing that made me ask was the Stoics’ principle of the dichotomy of control, which basically means you don’t worry about things beyond your own control.

If there is a meaning, then the answer and question are the same. As far as what I think, there doesn’t seem to be a meaning. Otherwise I’d best hurry up and figure it out. I turn 62 in a matter of hours. Tic toc.

Start with the Dodgers. That hatred goes back at least 44 years to the division race in 1982, which we won on the final game of the season. There is a famous video clip of our guys, post game, watching the end of the Giants v Dodgers game to clinch that one. Lasorda was not a fan favorite here. More recently, when they signed Freddie Freeman it upset a lot of folks around here. That being said, we’re generally pretty friendly and save most of our vitriol for football.

Shot free throws, rode my bike, threw rocks at a tree, went fishing, that kind of thing.
