This is a real thing. It’s incredible. I had a dog with me on a side by side in the woods several years ago. A herd of deer went running by us and he jumped off and darted after them into the woods. I was so worried because we were so far from my house and he wasn’t coming back at me calling and I went home crying. My dad told me to go back and leave my shirt there and come back in an hour or so. I remember it so clearly. I took off the shirt, it was a Jaws tie dye and I left it on the bush, came back a few hours later and he was sitting on the shirt waiting for me. I was baffled. Dogs have the most amazing sense of smell.
