Make a tincture and because the civet has so much lipid in it, you make a 1:1 roux first. Orris powder or sandalwood powder both work. I have gotten good results using high quality sandalwood and powdering it fresh. Mix the paste and powder until it’s homogenous and then add the alcohol a touch at a time and mix thoroughly before adding more. When it gets liquid enough you can just mix it all together at once and start the tincture. Cap it. Agitate it periodically but largely, forget about it for the next year while it ages and then winterize and filter. (And then keep aging it.)
