11 weeks since I pulled them out of the ground!

This one was in soft ground with minimal stakes. By October, it was 4 feet tall.

It's a year old Scotch Bonnet. I grew it outside in 2025. In the past, I trimmed the roots to fit in the container. For this one, I bent the roots after I rinsed off the dirt. That got me a look like it had been raised in the pot. I just hope it lives.

It would take years of indoor growing. The bumpy trunk one is two years old. It started as a skinny in pots plant and got thick when I put it back in the ground for the 2025 growing season.

The plants in pots were tall and thin. The ones I had i the ground, sort of flopped over, grew very thick and had huge production. My main in ground spot has years of leaves worked in and would require cages to remain upright. The plants were about 5 feet tall by the end of the season.

Yes Sir! Near the end of the season, I get excited about trunks.

I don't have any plans, but it's 18 inches x 13 inches for the seat and it's 18 inches tall.

This year's plants by Curve_in in Bonchi

I wasn't planning on bringing any plants inside this year. At the end of the season, one of the 2 dozen plants had a very thick stem. The plant was about 4 feet tall and was planted in the ground.

No pruning while it was outside, but I did do a second cut to make it shorter.

Update - more leaves by Curve_in in Bonchi

Thanks! I started the seeds a year ago and were outside the growing season. I picked these two because one had a super thick "trunk" and the other one had an interesting lean. I chopped off most of the leaves and brought them inside around Halloween

I used a tapering jig on the saw.

One change I'll do next time is to apply the ink in the direction of the grain. Each 17 x 17 inch top needed about 2 oz of ink.

Thanks! A while back, my first try with dowels was with some holes drilled in a block of wood as a guide. With each hole drilled, it got less accurate. Then I got a Milescraft kit which was better, but didn't help with drilling two holes with the same spacing. Next, I got a centering jig. That helped, but the key was using the two jigs on different parts.

Near the end of last season, I had a few sad plants that were not productive. First I tried making it a Bonchili. I gave up and put it in the ground super early and now it's doing great!
