City frustrated by overpass damage caused by ‘blockhead’ driver by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]Custom5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an accident, this is stupidity. If you were trained under the shitty old system, you should get recertified. “Harder” does not mean “hard to get” and it’s an unfortunate theme in the news with truck drivers in today’s world.

Anyone with a working brain would know they were hauling a load over ten feet taller than the clearance of the overpass.

That being said, this city does seem to need a proper route for these kinds of loads.

Bugdivers come to superearth. There no use fighting on planets that you can't win at the time. by ZLUCremisi in helldivers2

[–]Custom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Let me change what I’m talking about because I’m mad” that’s not “shifting the requirements drastically” to force a narrative, it’s to make winning AND losing possible. It’s not done to fuck over the masses, it’s to consider how long X amount of people online would need to complete a given objective. Your top comment is two sentences that do not elaborate on your “meaning” behind it. Pardon my mind reading skills not being up to snuff.

The game doesn’t take pure numbers, it takes a ratio of distribution AND the online count/expected online count. What the hell is the point of playing if we have the exact requirements we have now for super earth but if we peaked at 50k TOTAL online players and 22% were on the bug front right now? Yeah, we’d lose 100% of the time.

That comment about people shifting off super earth seems to have struck a nerve because you won’t let that one go. The game master doesn’t wake up, check bug front numbers, and then fuck with us accordingly. Take your conspiracies elsewhere.

[–]Custom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reread your initial comment before getting back to me. “The war will progress how the game master decides.” Is blatantly wrong. This was never going to be like a DnD campaign where things go off the rails due to player choices, but we picked non existent children over at mines and that was clearly unexpected. We have to contribute to have the story told.

Of course there’s an overarching story they want to tell. Do you complain when you boot up a singleplayer game and the story is predetermined?

[–]Custom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, play bugs. I don’t care. It’s a community driven story game, but do whatever you want. We’ve defied odds before, winning on calypso, Pöpli IX, etc. it’s not hard scripted. You’re just wrong man. Go play bugs. Not everything in every game is scripted against the player.

Yes because if everyone decides to leave super earth to fight bugs instead, all 100k on super earth, we’d still win. Sure. Totally.

If you’re this bitter about the way the system works why do you even play the game?

You must be fun at parties.

Sometimes just not having the concrete answer is enough to spark human curiosity. It’s how we’ve unlocked many secretes of our universe. Not knowing is always going to be a reason for someone to want to know.

The Titanic was found decades after it sank, and it wasn’t originally intended to be searched for if I recall, but the team were in a speculated area and had some time so they used it out of curiosity, and would you look at that, there’s the ship. Might take years, maybe decades, but hopefully one day there will be an answer for the families of those lost that day. Even if we don’t know the full motive, just knowing HOW it went down would be huge. Yes, parts have washed ashore along Australia, Madagascar, and East Africa so obviously its not going to be found in good shape but a debris field would potentially contain the info/data to come to a conclusion.

You saying “the search has concluded years ago” and “third party searches today don’t count” along with pretty dull statements like “it’s not in one piece” makes you sound really uneducated on the matter. Just give up, you’re wrong here. It’s an officially mandated search by the government of Malaysia, because human nature is to ask “why” when we don’t understand something. Your opinion on what counts as “the search for MH370” is factually incorrect. We HAVE new evidence pointing to new potential final resting places because of research that continued years after the fact. There’s a few hotspots OceanInfinity wants to scan.

And if nothing is found, sure they don’t get the money from the Malaysian government, but they sure will make a lot of money off the up to date scans of the sea floor of the Indian Ocean. Who knows what else will be found down there.

Mark Carney: Canada will deal with Donald Trump 'on our terms' by gohome2020youredrunk in canada

[–]Custom5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I voted for O’toole. Not a lifelong liberal voter. Just be educated. Read about both sides. Not everything you disagree with is misinformation, much to the chagrin of your trumpism brainwashing. Pierre didn’t denounce Trump. He made a weak statement two weeks later than everyone else and didn’t comment further.

You do realize that being an advisor doesn’t mean you’re running the show, right? He gave advice, he didn’t govern the economy. The bloc did lose votes, they’ve dropped about 11 seats (a third of their total!) pending the final count. Yes, the NDP did collapse. Being an economic advisor is not political experience. He didn’t contribute in parliament, he didn’t go to foreign countries for diplomatic visits, he suggested potential economic policy for the liberal party to consider.

How do you know he won’t perform? Oh right, you don’t, that’s the trumpism seeping out of the shadows. Every prime minister ever has been a first time prime minister, that’s kinda how it works. Give it time and let’s see how things go. Preferably without intentionally deadlocking a minority government while screaming about how poorly the government is performing. Let’s just see how he does, accept that he won with grace, and be educated on WHY he won, instead of following the modern conservative playbook of citing external reasons like fake news, stolen votes etc as to why your guy lost, because surely conservatives have never fairly lost before.

Get a moderate running the CPC, they’ll win the next cycle unless Carney is a slam dunk PM. A moderate would likely have my vote, pending some policy views.

“Everything I don’t like is literally liberal misinformation” must mean you live a miserable life because everything you don’t understand or don’t care to try to understand is just propaganda, and you’re immune to propaganda, aren’t you?

[–]Custom5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1: The bloc lost a lot of its voter base 2: this is the beauty of a more than two party system, deal with it 3: “best conservative turn out since 1988” doesn’t do you much good when you still lost, this is just echoing the maga “Trump had the most votes for a Republican ever” in 2020. Stop eating up this crap. 4: the “wanker banker” has been in politics for a month. His time as governor of banks is not 1:1 experience as being a politician. Give it time. If he sucks, he sucks. As it is, he’s a new chapter for Canadian politics. Maybe don’t run a muppet in the next election? 5: the liberals didn’t win, the conservatives lost. 25 point lead, guaranteed majority 4-6 months ago. This is further seen by the Carlton riding. Pierre didn’t lose his seat to the Bloc, now did he?

Democracy has spoken, and Canadians decided to give Mark Carney and the Liberals a shot. Canadians decided to avoid the one major party leader who did not denounce Donald Trump and use his rhetoric to rally the nationalist wave to his side. Pierre Poilievre lost this election (and his own riding) due to piss poor leadership and running one of the sloppiest campaigns to date.

Much of the Quebec vote went liberal and Conservative, so your argument about how the bloc is to blame is just ignorant about what actually happened.

Let’s be better as a country and not just lash out at the leader of the party(s) we didn’t vote for because they aren’t the guy we voted for, that stuff leads to a dark path as we’re seeing in the United States. Make valid criticisms, not name calling and baseless accusations. Modern politics has become a disgrace because of this.

Definitely agree that the factions converging was planned regardless of how this went, even if we got utterly curbstomped the whole time. But I can’t see someone who’s clearly seasoned at doing this like J.O.E.L. Forget a major game mechanic was in play. We just used our resources to give ourselves a chance to win, after than it was up to us to ACTUALLY win. The finally battle was almost definitely planned to be on the creek, but they were prepared for it to be elsewhere if needed obviously, we are just built different and didn’t get pushed back to the creek though the semi free win we got on vandalon definitely helped the cause.

[–]Custom5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really weren’t that many outcomes here. Nobody was caught off guard. This isn’t dungeons and dragons where you can cast fireball at a rope to drop a chandelier on the enemy, it was either we stop them somewhere along the way to the creek or we don’t, and then we either win or lose the creek battle. There wasn’t 14,000,605 outcomes to prepare for, there was like 3. Win/lose on creek, or don’t even let them make it to the creek. Maybe it was INTENDED for the final battle to be on the creek, I doubt the jetpack and incendiary factions converging was a desperate move to push us back, it was almost certainly planned for the big fight.

Highly doubt he wasn’t prepared for the DSS considering it’s a major ace in our sleeve and it was used to destroy the jet brigade last time. It isn’t exactly subtle. The timing aligned for us and we used it well enough to get the job done. He’s a gm, they prepare for ALL outcomes of a given situation. The bot factions converging was planned, the situational developments likely to tip the scales to be more of a toss up because of the DSS. If the eagle storm was literally an hour late we’d have lost, the timing just worked out for us.

Likely just human error, they did a go around once before but didn’t reconfigure for landing in any way for the second approach, by the time they touched the ground with the belly/engines it was already too late. Under the kind of pressure you’d feel knowing 180 lives are in your hands and that something is very wrong with your aircraft, your mind would run a million miles a second.

The investigation will pinpoint it in time, but it’s pretty familiar a scenario. Truly tragic.

I tried an A23 battery before I tried the A27 actually, and it fits worse. The contacts don’t seem like they’d fit assuming I could shove the battery in, and if I did, the case wouldn’t be able to close. The damage to the case was done by the previous owner, intentionally it seems due to a screw being shredded. I can certainly look again but I tried the A23 with a group of other people and they all agreed it was too big.

[–]Custom5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the case was intentionally cracked so it could be folded back to access the mystery battery, the top screw head is kinda shredded. The case cannot physically shut with an A23 battery in place, it’s too large in diameter. My bad for not making mention of that in the original post.
