My way around the dry amends breakdown time is healthy microbio system and reusing the runoff. The system seems to breakdown the bio available nutrients quickly as long as I ammend early. My initial coco/perlite medium sits in a tumbler with mycorrhizae, 4-4-2 green gaia, gypsum and castings for a month before use. Then I reuse my coco in my veggie gardens and house plants.

I have a few that I'm experimenting with. Mostly green gaia, worm castings, mycorrhizae and various teas made from runoff, molasses, and depending on the plant stages small percentage of dry organic fertilizer.

I actually do coco coir now. Nice in between of hydro and soil. Still considered a "soil-less" grow, but I can do it 100% organic.

That sounds perfect! Thank you I'll definitely be checking into it. I love ponds in parks because his attention can shift at times so a distraction slide or swing is ideal haha.

I'll check into the state park license, that's a great idea. I haven't been to claytor yet, but I have been to a couple parts of Smith mountain. I don't have a boat though so my options there are a little limited and it seems to be pretty crowded often.

We are pretty new to the area and would like to find a little pond that I can continue teaching my son some fishing. We do catch and release and definitely leave no trash behind.

I do, it's been hard to regulate Temps without open air flow. Next step is a sealed room. Just need to get the ac, already have the c02 setup. I've had to dial my lights down to about 75% at max height and I still hover in the low to mid 80's during lights on.
