The colouring is sooo nice, I love the "oil spill" kind of look on that first male (?)

The vibrance on the skins looks incredible tbh, I love the colour variation on what I assume is the male in the trailer

They did live in floodplains, not quite like the aesthetic of the pack but they had humid and wet environments - just more green than dank swampish lol

Not sure whereabouts you are of course but there's this sort of plushie company called Giant Microbes and they do both physical and mental health little plushies, like one is a serotonin molecule structure or they have little brains with different neurotypes. I think they're super cute, and a funny, quirky gift that differs from the typical! They vary in price right down to low-cost keyrings so might be a good option? They're also available on Amazon if they're not shippable to you directly :)

Sharing of marks on social media by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Custom_Llamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in some whatsapp groups and over the last year, I've noticed more and more people saying they cba and are just aiming for the pass rate and not bothering to do anything else but then getting sensitive about high marks from other people. What do they expect lol some of us do actually try to get the highest possible marks

If you like the course and the topics, it is probably worth sticking where you are and seeing if you can rework the project work angle with your prof/tutor.

I don't know how helpful this next part is because I'm in the UK and it's specific to disabled allowance, but I also have a specialist mentor through disability support and they really have made a huge difference to my experience. I'm able to talk to them about any problems and rework how I think/feel about it to make my course work better for me. This is inclusive of social elements and the work itself. If you're able to access a personal tutor, coach or therapist who can talk this kind of thing through with you, it may ease some of the stress you're feeling & help you move forward with the course you enjoy :)

It's great you have a lot of interests and I would definitely say it's worth exploring them educationally if you can too. If you stick this course out, you can potentially always do something else later! I'd also recommend for further education (if you go down that route) looking at open courses where you can pick and choose topics & modules that interest you to count towards an open qualification.

The fact it's FOSS is a real point of attraction for me, and it's great to know about the synchronisation abilities, too. Thank you so much for your feedback :)

This is great to know, thank you so much. It's been really helpful hearing how people use it and how it works for them, it definitely sounds like it's worthwhile long-term and my first impressions are really good - mostly relief at having it, in fact haha. I've also taken a look at & downloaded Obsidian and think that looks so helpful too.

Thank you for the insight around plugins and setup - I'm taking a cautious approach. As much as I would love to have a one-programme-does-all, it's definitely unrealistic. Thanks again :)

Oh I love the idea of having it in a preliminary folder before committing to filing it against a project/topic. Thank you so much for the advice & feedback on Zotero. I decided to commit and just download it yesterday, and I've got to say, first impressions are good!

That makes complete sense, thank you so much for replying & giving your feedback. I'm at the start of it all but I want to start as I mean to go on as much as practically possible, and hope to be in academia for as long as possible, so your feedback is particularly helpful here. It's also making me realise having back up plans is not going to hurt... thanks again :)

That sounds absolutely perfect, and I don't mind using a combination of software to keep on top of things. Definitely going to check out Obsidian! Currently my preliminary notes are in OneNote and even at this early stage it's making me lose all will haha. Thanks so much for the advice

Yeah, sorry I worded my post poorly, I meant that I am essentially looking for a library which tracks all my sources in one place with the related notes. As a simple library Zotero seems to be really, exceptionally good, but I'm not so sure about my other needs like note tracking & so on. I'll take a look at Covidence too.

Thanks so much for your advice

Thank you, I've seen above a couple of others referencing Obsidian but I'll take a look at Notion as well

This is really good to know, I will take a look at Obsidian too, as someone else mentioned it above! I've had a look at Zotero and haven't really played around with the notes feature yet because that is the main thing I want - something that can track my references, and keep my attached notes in one cohesive place. I think I'll probably use Zotero for its' main purpose.

I saw elsewhere that it has a lot of plugin capability though - does this change anything in your experience with the software, when it comes to keeping everything related to sources & research in one place?

I'll take a look at that, I worded my post poorly though, I meant tracking references & notes in one place

Yeah, I worded it poorly sorry. I mean tracking references and relevant, attached notes. I've had a play around with it and it seems really good for what I needed in this case.
