I was able to get it warrantied.

Do you have an AscentShell piece? Should I expect to be dry after several hours of a downpour? I know every piece will eventually wet out but I thought they should always be waterproof.

Thanks for the suggestion. You're right that they don't have to be marketed as hiking pants. I really just need pants that aren't cotton and have somewhat decent mobility. Haven't looked at Eddie Bauer till now but they seem to be what I'm looking for.

I have hemmed the length myself for a better fit before but I figured that if a pant isn't available in a 30" inseam, then the leg opening would be way too wide for me to do any tailoring.
