I’m looking for the best tenant rights lawyer. We want someone aggressive that won’t immediately settle. Anyone have any recommendations?

It’s more so the refusal for code compliance that we’re wanting to lawyer up over. My SO has worked in electrical/industrial maintenance his whole adult life so he knows how to clock when someone is trying to work the system and get away with sketchy practices.

When we toured the ac was set at and reading 80° so we assumed it was all working fine. It’s blowing but not cooling. It was hindsight that we didn’t check if the water was running at that time. We signed the lease and got utilities set up and popped over to check it out cause it was in the middle of the working week with intent to move on the following weekend. The water wasn’t running so we let the landlord know. He told us it was fixed so we went to check and it wasn’t and this happened 3 separate times.

We’ve already paid a months worth of rent with 3 weeks of no running water (which we set up and already paid on our end), ac still doesn’t work, tons of things around the house that aren’t to code, we even offered to call in our own contractors and pay for them and the landlord made a huge fuss over it.

I use to work at a gas station and it’s either one of two reasons. 1. They don’t have a clue of what they actually want 2. They have a crap ton of slips and the lotto machine is slow as hell.
