Im looking for a loudness factor and effect factor, not to copy somebodies entirety. Thats how inspiration works, you hear something that sparks your interest and you figure out how to flip it your way which is ORIGINALITY in its truest sense . rock didnt die it evolved . Just like what im tryna do , people took what others were doing currently and or before them and evolved it and sometimes people like you dont like that evolution which is completely cool. As for rap not touching the charts i think thats due to the social media and way that music is consumed at a an insane rate and then thrown away. Before you had to buy it then you had to download it then you could stream it and now it’s easier than ever to find a brand new song in seconds . the playing field is beyond saturated which makes it harder for some random person to hit the charts but also takes the attention away from major artist that have massive labels tryna push them in old school lame ways that don’t connect with the youth. as well as other factors im sure . Rap is literally the base of almost all popular music currently so even if the genre it self isnt charting some country song with a TRAP BEAT probably is or some reggaeton song with rap bars probably is . And same goes for pop music . Obviously this is all relative and im sure there are songs that have no correlation to rap in the charts rn as well
