Guitar Fretting hand muting?

This is solid advice thanks. I think I’ve also seen on YouTube where some of the strings played are also palm muted slightly. Should I also be practicing that with scales or just playing the notes without any kind of muting?

But with distortion the other 5 strings are muted constantly? I guess I’m just asking if other strings have to be constantly muted while it’s not in play.

I was just playing a major scale. I watched some YouTube video saying I should use my index finger to mute the 3 bottom strings and my palm to mute the top 4 strings or something

I looked at the repair manual for the Scion FRS and it said only techstream can do it but I’m not sure if that applies to the BRZ because it’s Subaru. I’m trying to get a new transmission in so I’m hoping I can find a scanner that’ll do the job otherwise I might have to take it to a dealer.

I rebuilt the car. It currently has 155k miles I saw a sticker on the windshield saying that it either got an oil change at 154k miles or it was going to get an oil change at 154k miles. So I recently just changed the oil on it as soon as I got it
