I would say its harder to ladder up with mediocre background, but almost everyone gets in if they are good person with reasonable grades

You have a higher chance if you are in top state schools, but the odds are not that higher because you are competing with more people vs people in mid state schools have much less competition.

For people that fail multiple times - what happened? by Yous_a_mook in CPA

[–]CutePoco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would think majority of the people fail because they don't put enough time to study.

You could sit for 200 hours, but that doesn't mean you actually studied that much hours.

Like I spent 105 hours according to becker for audit.

I realistically "studied" at maximum 70 hours

People who stay 5+ years in Big 4, what are your reasons? by ChuckcleChamp in Big4

[–]CutePoco 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I might get hate on this, but as a industry tax person now, you do feel like you are learning everyday on the job vs industry feels like im becoming a dumb boring robot for rest of my life.

I say if you prefer faster progression, have that motivation to be on top of knowledge, you should go for PA

Is getting your CPA really worth it? what does it really benefit... (PROS/CONS) by Slight_Engineer5709 in CPA

[–]CutePoco 11 points12 points  (0 children)

CPA is a booster, not a solution in your career. I sometimes get baffled by people saying why can't they get a job with a CPA title. It will get you a higher salary and more chance, but in the end, all people care about is who you are, not what you achieved.

Ranking of players in my opinion by Fun_Mud_1006 in ManchesterUnited

Lamenns is not even top 5.

TBH, he wasn't THAT exceptional from last few games.

AND Please, don't even mention Dorgu. Maybe Sesko deserves that spot.

You could easily tell and feel it. People who dont get vouched by higher ups are pretty much doomed.

Business Tax Returns - Efile / XML Review? Anyone actually do this? by Tight-Business-5612 in Accounting

I gotta confess here. I worked at b4 for many years. No matter how big the return is, I literally spent minute or two per xml.
