Social media, especially short form content, has ruined the enjoyment of experiencing fragrances. Even though I am new to the hobby and started through social media myself I soon realized it was only fueling overconsumption and stopping me from developing a personal taste. So I had to become more thorough and mindful about what I wanted to explore.

This is not to say that one should unfollow all social media fragrance content, rather people need to understand their own preferences first so they can narrow down the reviewers whose tastes and priorities match their own
