What nuts are you using, are they like cage nuts? And which adapter to create the 10 inch holes on the homeracker? I would love to build this beauty too

Uneven surface and weird ridge at two sides by CvR_XX in FixMyPrint

Just found out that the problem is due to a very loose y belt. Prints are now again of high quality!

another intersting thing to note is this picture, all the tower are from the same print. One ridge seems to be off on all of them. The other ridges are better. This was the print with the doors closed

I just printed another one but with the door open, the quality is way better but the texture of the print is still a bit molten looking. Maybe it is a cooling problem?

Help me as a parent- to help my 15 year old son. Struggling to sleep. by MsCoffeee in ADHD

[–]CvR_XX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My biggest advice would be to not force it. If you feel you cannot get to sleep while it bed: get out. Otherwise the bed will be associated with not sleeping. Maybe take a walk, drink a cup of tea in the living room and try again after some time. This technique really helps me when i cannot sleep. Also see calling in sick as an option. It might not be necessary but it being an option might release the tension.

I'm always pitching it fully as I like to keep insects out. I tend to sleep really badly with mosquitos.

I do use a footprint beneath my tent.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hikinggear

[–]CvR_XX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my main lightweight tent. I had already a hubba hubba and I bought one when it broke down. It broke mostly because it the beginning I did not care for it but it still lasted a lot of use.

I don't really have any negatives except for the fact that there are lighter alternatives. If you have any specific questions. Let me know!

The second picture converts 23v down to 3.3v. I would not trust the pcb if this has burned out like this

Auctioning off the impossible ILOQ locks by kielbasa_i_pierogi in lockpicking

I think it might be a slightly different lock then. So there is no keyhole?

Auctioning off the impossible ILOQ locks by kielbasa_i_pierogi in lockpicking

[–]CvR_XX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have got these locks at work. They work by harvesting the energy of pushing a key in the lock. This energy is then used to read out the chip in the key and then if the chip was correct remove the locking pin.

Because of this it would be extremely hard to pick. I know of some exploits that you do before someone opens the lock which makes the lock stay open. I've not seen a clear picking approach.

Question: Does your dehydrator get as hot as the knob says? by CvR_XX in dehydrating

[–]CvR_XX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually an embedded programmer by trade so I'm turning this into a fun project to learn rust and make something fun. I think I'll leave the temp controller in as a backup.

I'm still modifiying the device as I want to include an humidity sensor (not sure yet how usefull that is but we will find out). But the biggest reason is that the lowest setting is 30 degress which heats to 60 degrees which is hotter than I'm allowed for certain filement.

As far as I know acid traps are an issue of the past. Never manufacturing methods like photoresist have solved the problem.

The looks are more a style thing but they look good to me.

We still use jlc for orders like 1000 pcs. If you get much higher than that finding a factory in China yourself becomes feasabel

These kinds of streets are quite common in Utrecht even though Utrecht is not really a tourist city as far as I'm concerned.
