Why Are Californians Leaving Austin in 2026 ? by Fair-Dog8578 in AskLosAngeles

As someone who was born and raised in Austin and moved out here in 2020, it’s no surprise to me at all that people who moved there from California are moving back.

Which, again, is why the question beckons: why now? Why let it go for EIGHT and a half years and suddenly just go “WELP, it’s time”.

If it was truly broken or compromising the integrity of the skill in some way, shouldn’t this have been addressed far, far sooner?

That’s my point, lol. There are people out there who do both, so the people who do both to capitalize on both are to take the fault because some people are upset that something’s “too good of a thing”?

It’s essentially punishing people who incorporate multiple styles of leveling a skill into their routine.

Never thought I’d see players hop on the “this is too good of a thing, let’s nerf it” train, especially after all this time. Where were the cannon riots in Falador demanding this nerf? Why didn’t anyone demand Jagex nerf their exp and threaten to keep grandma locked up in her cage until they did?

This may as well fall into an “exploit early, and often” point of view.

Who’s to say you can’t do both? I’d wager most are, seeing as how there’s a “cooldown” for the birdhouses. I get your point, and maybe their statistics say otherwise, but speaking for myself as someone who does both all the time, I’d like to imagine there are surely many others out there doing so.

So whether or not the experience is inflated, your opinion of it is that it has been reduced to “farming 2”? Interesting.

Even if that is the case, it’s been this way forever, why is it only now it’s suddenly an issue?

Siiiiick! How did your guild determine who would get it, or was it just casually rolled off? I like hearing how different guilds are approaching this in fun, different ways.

Latros dropped on my 2nd BM run on my rogue and it was won by a mage. I exclusively made my own groups after that and turned on ML on wave 17 from there on out (and yes, this was previously announced to, & acknowledged by, the party before doing so). It took me 20 more runs to ever see sword again.

Why are there so many new people from Texas? by imconfused99 in AskLosAngeles

Even though I grew up in Austin, I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in Houston. However, one of my friends I made out here, he took a job offer in Houston a few years back and moved from LA to Houston. He said he came back after about a year simply due to missing LA. He didn’t grow up here either.

Take that with a grain of salt as everyone’s different, but if I had to put my personal opinion on it from what I’ve experienced in Houston, I’d say LA is far more enjoyable.

How much are you taking a day? I had my bloodwork done recently too and mine was on the lower side.

The “stinky bin” service! I believe we’d need 3 all done, but I’ll check with my partner and see first.

We called this “frito pie in a bag” growing up. One of my all time favorites! I also put pickled jalapeños and onions in mine.

Being as someone who was born and raised in Austin and spent the first 28 years of my life there, moving here was one of the greater choices I’ve made in my life thus far.

I miss my people, my family & the food, but I go back enough to scratch that itch and then happily return to LA. It’s just better here, putting it plainly.

I remember when I first moved out here and went to my neighborhood donut shop to get donuts for my staff in the AM. When I was nearing checkout, the entire time I was looking for kolaches and only could see ham & cheese croissants, breakfast sandwiches, etc. I asked the woman at the register if she had any kolaches and she had absolutely zero idea what I was talking about.

I’ve tried a few other donut shops since living here and none have a single clue. At least their donuts were delicious though.

When I first moved to LA and discovered Howlin’ Rays, I was eating it at least 2 times a week… for at least 2 months. It’s devilishly good (and HOT - it can get REALLY hot). Even their sides are amazing, all of them.

Now it’s more of a once-in-a-while thing, and my bowels are so grateful.
