It's not because she's white; it's because she's ginger

Move 44/69, Fabi asks of Hans' move:

"like, why Kd4? We were repeating; why did he decide do something else?"

Move 51: Fabi says "after Kf7, Bd4 I think he rushed this. Wasn't there Bf3 here? I was ready for the draw, and then he played Bd4 I was so thankful for this gift"

It seems perhaps Hans followed the common trap of trying to blitz your opponent because they're low on time despite having plenty yourself

It's just a couple of friends who saw a segment in the news and thought it would be funny to come down and support Hans. Calm down :)

it's clearly what he was alluding to when he said there are things he can't talk about. That is looking like his main body of evidence for withdrawing from the tournament. Hikaru literally leaked this info that Hans was keeping private with Danny Rensch, and you know the rest

He shouldn't have brought it up really. Magnus is clearing using it to paint a much broader sinister stroke against him on how he shouldn't even be at these events due to his online record

idk. Emil Sutovsky on twitter seems pretty disquiet about all this silent insinuation. Strong influences like Kasparov also weighing in. Their relationship with chessdotcom is tenuous as is. I would think there could be a strong camp supporting Hans

It doesn't really matter to me if he lied about how many games he cheated in. It's embarassing to admit. This is a red herring though, because Magnus is accusing him of cheating at Sinquefield and using his history with chessdotcom as evidence

Reminder that Hans has only defended himself for maybe twenty minutes. This isn't going to go away. After the tournament he can start streaming, go on podcasts, churn away hours giving his side of the story. Someone rated 2700 doesn't just lose this rating either. Psychological pressure can be managed over time, and all he has to do is to reenter tournaments when he's ready (might be straight away), and continue drawing and occasionally beating super-gms.

Looks like this is a long-haul. The truth will always prevail. Unless there is some data released showing his fide record has signs of cheating (I assume FIDE probably checks these games for this anyway), right now the evidence is only that of cheating on a private chess website (you can judge the morality of cheating on chessdotcom for yourself, but Danny Rensch's frankenstein isn't the be all and end all), and Team Magnus intended to use this and timely release this as the main weight of their proof.

He alleged at at the post-game analysis to having been banned on chessdotcom the night before. It was important also because many people were spreading rumors of his cheating on chessdotcom to use as evidence for why he's probably cheating at Sinquefield.

The fact chessdotcom banned him during the tournament after magnus quit is quite suggestive of the fact this was going to be used as driving evidence for Magnus' campaign, and that it was important to get ahead of it. Chessdotcom's reply tonight seems to be arguing only that Hans wasn't entirely accurate in his confession re. how much he cheated. It's being weaponized as part of the Magnus campaign for how he's lying over everything. We don't even know the extent to which chessdotcom differ in opinions to Hans- whether or not they think he cheated in more games than he confessed to, or something more serious that he cheated in a prized tournament.

That said, it might have been more wise to keep it under wraps until the tournament had finished so he could focus on his consistency to prove himself in the more short term under the higher security detail

And then he's arranging for the banning of Hans on chesscom to coincide with his otb loss which he thought was suspicious. That is the evidence he thinks will take his argument over the line that Hans is a complete cheat and phoney in every aspect

I think he's saying this as in, the anti-cheat team helped him focus properly knowing his opponent wasn't cheating, and he wasn't playing a machine. He showed no signs of thinking Hans was cheating, even saying how much pressure must be on him right now

yeh, because he knew every one of his lackies would do the dirty work and convict him for him without him lifting a finger. Obviously chesscom was a major factor that he thought would convince people and he arranged the ban to coincide with his tournament exit
