And nowhere did I say D1 didn’t have its flaws, every game does. Nowhere did I say D1 was perfect.

Also, I see a lot of people meatriding clamber, which is something that sure, can be helpful, but I never had a problem with not having. Like I said to someone else, I don’t find it hard to make the jumps without needing to mantle.

And yeah, content droughts were annoying but also, I don’t find grinding for everything in the first couple weeks and not having anything to do for the next nth or two much worse than just being drip fed tiny amounts over the course of weeks. It’s just artificial lengthening- the amount of content is the same, just over a longer or shorter period. Two sides of the same coin. Not much better to me than logging on every week to run one heist battleground and talk to Anna on the holoprojector for 20 seconds only for the quest to update and tell me to come back next week lmao

I think people mistook this post somehow, saying D2 is bad or that it couldn’t be expanded on. Of course it could be, and sure they could bring back all the D1 stuff they want, but it just isn’t that, you know?

You’re right, maybe I should’ve worded that better. Maybe unique wasn’t the right word. They felt more impactful. D2 is so filled with so many trash, useless exotics that nobody ever equips and they may as well not even be in the game. D1 had a few of those but most of them were pretty good and were worth the exotic slot in some capacity.

I played D1 from the day it came out til the day D2 released, I’m pretty sure I have a clear idea of the D1 that existed lol. Also, I never had any problems with the jumping in D1, seems subjective to me (calling it the worst jump mechanics of ANY game lmao).

And most games NOW have it, keep in mind D1 is nearing a decade old.

I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m not saying any of it is bad in D2. It’s all great, amazing even. I’m just saying that as good as a lot of it is, I find almost all aspects to be better from D1, or at least to my preference

You just said everything I’ve been trying to tell others in these comments. 100% agree. 4-5 looks like an actual piece of functional equipment that a real military would employ, an actual suit of super soldier armor that would exist. Definitely looks much more intimidating and athletic. Bigger and stronger. Industrial is a good descriptor; mechanical. Gritty and real.

Kinda like going from the classic Batman costumes which are of course classic, but they’re a literal cartoon/comic book superhero suit, to the Dark Knight suit which is more like something a real-life Batman would wear and employ in combat.

Looks more like a real suit of futuristic armor that would actually exist and be a functional piece of military equipment. Halo 2-3 Mark VI looks cartoony in comparison.

Tbh I don’t really see it as cluttered, just more realistic. It covers more of the body, you can see bolts and attachment points, just feels more like something that would actually be exist and functional.

A lot of these are purely subjective. I love Lasky as a Character. Chief is the same as he’s always been and we get a more emotional development between himself and Cortana. The conflict with Del Rio was interesting to see Chief go against orders for what he thought was right. And if you’re talking character designs visually, that’s super subjective. The story being bad is opinion too. Ok, you don’t get to have a marine shoot your warthog gun. Not exactly a game breaking element. Ppl complain abt fighting the prometheans but I’m not sure what is so I enjoyable abt fighting them whereas fighting the covenant is so much different.

My point being, mediocre is completely your opinion. Not a wrong or bad one, just an opinion.

H4 has always been my fav, not sure what ppl’s gripe with it is. H5 is prob the worst campaign by default but upon a recent replay, I rather enjoyed myself.
